Crashes during battles

First off I pretty new tot his this mod, but am loving it. About 10 hours into a Grand Campaign. I have been having one issue though. Pretty consistantly by game will crash whenever I kill or capture the enemy general. I figure there must be somthing up with loading the tranisiton scenes for these events.

I just upgraded to Vista and reloaded everything fresh. I loaded the game into my users folder instead of the usual program files folder, so i don't have to deal with Vista write protecting all the files.

To get to the meat of the issue, is there a way to disable to event scenes that run during battles?

ok here simple it is go to medieval II main folder thre you will see

"medieval2.preference.cfg" THRE find this

event_cutscenes = 1 change the number 1 to 0 and save it
that's it no more crashes
