Battle Begins:
I send my Milita Hoplites charging straight at the Iberian Infantry, I was'nt looking and thinking I would just do a simple rush and kill some Iberians and get them close enough to the wall for my peltasts to fire.
I see the Roundshields start getting involved and send out all my Hoplites to try to win the battle and save Syracuse (Romans were bribed )
I see all of a sudden all my Hoplites routing. (Was reading Machiavelli while fighting the battle...) I look at the map and see a unit of Elephants wiping them out . I should have looked more closely before charging my Hoplites out in retro-spect.
So now I'm thinking I'm doomed and bring back in the rest of my battered Hoplites.
The Elephants come with the Roundshield and scattered Iberians next to the wall.
This is where arrows from the towers on my walls, my Peltasts, and my Cretan Archers win the day.
The Numidians had'nt moved at all during the battle and so they were the first target of my Cretans. They just stand there taking it.
I tell my peltasts to keep firing at the Elephants and a lot of them get killed.
The Roundshields get mowed down by the arrows repeating from my towers.
I take the now ammo-less Peltasts and Archers, along with the left over rabble of my newly bloodied Hoplites and do a charge. I kill a few Elephants, rest of Roundshields and charge back inside, where the boling oil finally kills the Elephants.

Results: Clear Victory
Not my best command, but a decent save.
