    Default Things i would like to see, and questions i have about V 1.2

    Hi guys, this is my first ever post. I was a giant fan of Rome total Realism and i have been looking for a mod like it for MTW2 for a long time. Clouds across europe seems good so far, except i have some suggestions. The Map should be much bigger and there should be more
    cities and provinces.

    The americas should be left in the game, and the aztecs as well, Maybe even expand the americas and have several native american tribes if itsis possible. I also hate the vanilla mercenary situation. There should be way more types of units and such, and they should all be area specific. Like Viking Berserkers and English druids, there just needs to be much more variety, and there needs to be a lot of them to hire. Also, if you not want to follow the pope and catholicism, you should be able to forsake it in your lands, and practice paganism.

    Whether it be norse mythology or druidism, or the worship of the ancient persian gods, you should be able to embrace the ancestral religions and forsake the new ones, just to have fun and go against the church. Temples should be able to be built in the name of Oden, Thor, Ahura Mazda, Ra, Osiris, etc...... And if you did embrace the old ways, different unit types would become available.

    I also believe that most of the generic vanilla units should be removed and replaced by newer, and more unique units. Instead of Peasants in denmark, have hillmen or woodsmen, or barbarian units. Get rid of the generic spearmen and town militias. And when it comes to knights, every faction should have their on style, strengths and weaknesses. One factions knights have lances and two handed swords, while another factions has throwing spears and a shield and one handed mace. Just et a lot of variety so all the factions feel very different. There should also be more blood. Vanilla blood is weak. The campaign should not be too long, but longer than it is in vanilla. Enemies should also be smarter and build up stacked armies like im sure we all do. The orthodox factions should also have crusades of a sort, as they are terribly boring.

    Now my question has to do with unit size. There is no adjuster in game, and i was wondering if you could change this or if i am missing it. Also, is it possible to expand unit sizes, so we could have regiments of 1000 men and companies of 500 horses, this would make the battle much more realistic. Thanks a lot fo taking the time to read this and i hope you can make some of these improvements.

    I'll answer this on Zeph's behalf (well as much as I can, he's the only one that can give definite answers). Although your suggestions about the mercenaries, america, and more unique units are great, unfortunently it takes a lot of time to do all that work. Just adding factions is a very extensive process. If you wanted to add multiple North American factions, you would have to not only expand the American map (and reduce the size in other parts of the map) but imagine, each faction would require at least 15 units. Now if you wanted totally unique units for 4 NA factions, you would need to make 60 new units. And the same goes for the other factions and mercenaries. I'm pretty sure CAE will gradually incorporate more different units and such but it won't be in a single bound. It will be a gradual process and such.

    As for religion, its a good idea and Zeph can see if he wants to incorporate the idea (I like it personally and I know at least WotN is taking this direction). As for Orthodox factions, Zeph has said that he will be giving them more special abilities later as the mod progresses.

    But there is only one problem.

    Zoroastrianism as you refere to by worshipping Ahura Mazda really had to be secret because they were killed by arabs, either change Khwarezmia to a zoroastrian faction or just to not feauture it, I see the 2nd part as my own will. and there is a limitation of religions in the game too. 7 religions there can be.

    making a faction takes hell of a time, Zeph told me how to create one and damn, I got bored half way trough it, that zeph and the mod helpers already have created 5 factions is unque.

    Still I don't know what Zeph's responses will be.

    I thought you can change the army size. I believe its in the options menu. Change unit size to Huge and see how many you get.

    Yes, you can go to Game Settings under Options and there you can change the unit size to Huge, Large, Normal, or Small.

    Hello Pdawgchilly,welcome to the CAE sub-forum.

    As for your ideas some are impossible to practice.

    Aztecs are already left in CAE and hadn't been taken out.Expanding Americas frankly is out of question as CAE's focus is basically middleeast and europe.There aren't any other factions in Americas excepting the Aztecs so it would be unlogical to add there new provinces just for the Conquering European powers.

    Your idea about religion technically is not possible.I'll explain why.In the game each faction has a specific religion.. The settlements religion unrest levels depend on the particular religion...

    So let's suppose I implemented some pagan temples for England.. England's religion is Catholic when pagan temples are built and they start converting the English regions to Paganism,there will be unrest all over the place since Paganism is not counted as the main religion of England.I need to make England Pagan or Catholic.That's the case.

    As principle I'm against taking out any vanilla units or removing any vanilla factions,I just add don't take out anything unless I see it very necessary.If you have examined the new factions you'll realize that unique units is pursued as much as I could but to remake vanilla units is an extremely hard and time consuming process.The enemies build more stack armies in CAE compared to vanilla,as the overall economy is improved.

    Your last suggestion is completely beyond my powers and initiative to do.Even in CA's expansion pack for mtw2 there were max units of 300 men and it was later announced by CA that this number was just for testing and the sizes would be the same as the previous game(mtw2)
