This is just a thread for everybody to post their favorite strategies, party rosters, and tips. Also, if any new players need help they should use this thread to ask questions about Mount and Blade or it's various mods. Thanks for the thread idea drak10687. Anyways, I'll start off. When I go into battle I tend to tell my troops to hold their ground while I ride out and thin the enemy's ranks. Of course do not attempt to do this if you are not mounted, because when more than three enemies gang up on you it is very hard to survive. My favorite weapons to use when doing this are usually two handers, as you can deliver much more damage per strike, meaning less passes it takes to kill a single enemy, and thus less chances of messing up and hitting an obstacle or something. Thats another thing, make sure you are moving, and moving fast at all times, if you're horse is hit by a spear, or takes a lot of damage, it my stand up on it's hind legs, letting multiple enemies get in attacks on it and you. If you are de horsed, then make sure you tell you're allies to charge, and try to run or back up in their direction. If you're lucky you'll meet up with them before you die.
Another hint I have is obvious, but I just thought I'd post it anyways. If you are on foot and facing horsemen, you're best bet is to get on a hill or incline, preferably wooded, and hold there. Make sure to order you're troops to stay with you! Stand behind a tree and try to keep it between you and the enemy horsemen, as they will run in to it when they try to attack you, thus halting their horse and letting you get in a few quick strikes. The hill is important also, because horses move slower when going up a hill. Make sure you are aware of all of you're surroundings, enemy horsemen strike from different directions. Try to keep strafing around the tree, and try to keep tabs on where you're enemies are.
