    WARLORD
i would suggest going to 4.1, this may fix the problem. also, i think you need to go back to vanilla ai files before switching from one to the other. so go from snipafist to vanilla to lusteds.

I really liked this game. The first time that I played it, it took me a lot of turns before it crashed. Then I could never get it go more than a few turns without CTD.

Finally, I backed up some changes that I made (and all the 4.1 add-ons and fixes). I uninstalled SS and Medieval (and yes, I do have the retail version, bought and paid for). I cleaned my registry, tested my RAM and video card & updated my drivers. I ran Scandisk/Checkdisk (full check) and defragged my HD 3 times. Finally I used CCleaner to clean up my Clipboard, memory dumps, Windows logs, chkdsk file fragments, everything.

I even emailed the Blood, Broads & Basters creator to make sure that the log file messages from that were not causing the CTD's that I got.

I then installed Medieval II again, then 4.0, then 4.1, then the few fixes/additions to it. I thought I was fine. Then about 15 turns into it, CTD. I don't know if it's Medieval II or SS, but today out of frustration I bought Kingdoms. It's just not worth it to invest so much time to lose one's game.

The "unspecified error" message is the worst error message debugger that I've seen in a log. I work with Business Application software and never thought I would see more cryptic messages that the ones I've seen with accounting software, but I think I was wrong.

Okay, I haven't given up. <Sigh>. Even the retrofit for Kingdoms 1.3 doesn't give put any of the new Kingdoms units in the Grand Campaign. I know that KingKong is making a 5x version of SS. Does anyone know of any problems with the campaign_script? My game keeps crashing at the end of turn 29 (okay, not 15 as listed above) and the only event that I can find that happens at 30 is the Mongols event in campaign_script (I haven't edited that file).

    Thanks,

what are the fixes/ additions you put in, and thanks for being so thoughrough and clear about whats going on. i remember i, and a bunch of other people were having this with 4.0, but as far as i know it disapeared with 4.1. i would try redowloafing and installing 4.1, i doubt it will help though. stay with us, someone will be able to help you.

Let's see, I put in Nerazzurri's 4.0 fix before I put in 4.1, and his 4.1 sound fix. I've put in the AI 1.5 fixes, and Real Combat 1.3. I took out the "bloody" and new sky textures. I also put in a fix I found here on this board (maybe not this thread) for regions that favor England when they shouldn't, and I put in an updated expanded.txt so that the new factions aren't "English." I'd add more detail, but it's past 4:30 am and I'm zoning out. I also loaded the export_descr_character_traits that remove ( the supply system.

Anyhoo it took me some 3 hours but I figured out what was causing the last error. I adjusted the descr_strat (I had assigned Mailed Knights to Poland), deleted map.rwm and was on my way...until the next CTD error, which seemed to be with the Rebels. I edited descr_strat to play the rebels in a new game, but found nothing wrong as I had not adjusted the rebels at all. I started my saved game up again, and no CTD this time. Weird.

It's about 4:30 am now, so I'm heading to bed. Thanks for the encouragement. I just bought Medieval II at the beginning of August, and it has been so much harder to tweak than RTW or Medieval.

Thanks. I'm having a new problem now. It has to do with Aragon. I toggled the fow and tracked all the computer movement and it CTD with an unspecified error as an army moves into southern France. I have no way to figure out what's going on, as I'm playing the Rhomanoi (Byzantines, jeez what a stupid name that they never even called themselves).

Hi i am just wondering if there is an "easy" way to remove the food supplies mod from the game. Which files does this mod effect?

If its to complex then i probably won't bother.

    See this page: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...=110516&page=5

That has the file that I've been using, but hey, I get CTD's all the time.

I apologize if this problem has already been addressed, but there are quite a few pages to look through.

When I try to start up the game, during the SS loading screen the game crashes out for an unkown error. Here are the last couple lines from my system.log, but it looks like there are a couple other problems in there. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that did not solve the problem.

I have a question regarding the 1.2 Community Buglist thread here:

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=109926

    Specifically, about this point:

"DEK animation problems: In short, they refuse to attack if clumped very tightly together at times and while they have 4 anims to attack infantry, only 2 of those will actually do anything. As those 2 that are effective are their slow anims, they will hardly ever strike (and strike successfully) at another infantry unit."

Im curious, does any component of SS fix this, or is it still like vanilla? I just thought I'd ask so i'd be prepared to not make them if they're still bad.

Oh, and anyway, love the mod! KK you're the man, IMO. Best mod for M2TW that I've tried
