You have all the files ready in your "Medieval II Total War\Stainless_Steel_Mod\data\--- 2 years per turn & UAI files ---" directory. Just copy them to right places.
Where do I get patch 1.2?
I really dont like it that buildings take longer to build now.. maybe there could be looked at how long it would actually take for such a building to be build? Its weird that upgrades often are taking a long time while only a small part is added to the existing building.
Something simple as dirt roads or land clearance should take rather short I believe. Building a major religious building would take a long time though.
I think the building times have been extended to balance the campaign length however if you really want to be able to build everything quickly you could use the EDB for 2 years per turn that's in the SS\data folder.
Love the mod, thank you so much for your hard work. However, I seem to crash on multiple campaigns when fighting vs. Mongols also they all have Aribic accents and not oriental/occidental. Thank you again, can anyone tell me how to fix these issues?
what he said ^
Hi inhuman One,
Well as nerazzurri already said, you can play at original game length and with original building times.
You just have to use those file in the folder nerazzurri mentioned.
However, I will release the new patch soon and there I will make a more exact guide for this...
Hi Antiquis and Eufarius,
This is related to a bug in Darth Mod and you can fix it manually through downloading his newest "magic fix 4" and by replacing the SS files with them (except export_descr_units!.. and if you use RC: except descr_projectiles!)
Otherwise, you could wait for the new patch I mentioned above...

well actually I am fine with the longer campaign, I just think that the build times are not realistic, they werent in vanilla either though.
I dont need everything as quickly as possible but I simply want it to take a realistic amount of time. I know that cathedrals and such took many years to build, but I doubt that an expansion of the barracks would take long since the main building is already there. Upgrading a city or a fortress could take longer though since that is a lot of work.
Its just rediculous that adding another tower to the barracks can take many years while a large stone wall around the city is done in half that time.
Settlement growth could be slowed down a bit further for game balance perhaps, and maybe recruitment could be altered a bit, some units could be made available at earlier levels of cities and castles and perhaps more new units could be added to the factions that have nothing decent in lower level cities and castles.
Furthermore I would like to make a skin request for future versions, I am personly very annoyed with the looks of musketeers and arquebusiers. They wear no armor at all, not even leather. They only get a metal helmet when upgraded. I am rather certain that in that period of time, gunpowder infantry would wear a little more armor. At least when upgraded.
And another thing, I know it was fasionable in those times but soldiers that fight on their socks which are both a different color look rather weird.

So far it seems to be a great mod! I'm really enjoying it. Just one thing that kind of bugs me though.
The disgraced trait that a general gains if he is besieged never seems to go away. It's rather annoying to me that my general is essentially crippled for the rest of his life just because an enemy army snuck up and besieged him for 1 turn. He's won a dozen huge victories since, and is still considered disgraced. Is this trait supposed to go away? How?
Great work overall though! Keep polishing it!
First off..welcome to the forums
And what you've mentioned is an error in the coding for that trait. If you open up the export_descr_character_traits.txt file and find the 'Reputation Destroyed' trait, you'll notice the Threshold is 1, same as the first level of the trait, 'DANGER'. Simply change this threshold to 2 and the trait will correctly trigger as a warning, and only progress to Reputation Destroyed if you sally out against the besiegers.
How do you enable hotseat?
Thanks for the tip. That still doesn't seem to work though. I get the "DANGER" trait on the first turn of the siege, but even if I sally out and defeat it immediately, it still gets turned into the "Reputation Destroyed" trait. As a result every time I see an enemy army coming I have to evacuate any generals to another city, since the enemy seems to have a knack for sidestepping any armies I have in their path and attacking the city directly.
That is what should happen. If you sally out, you'll get the Reputation Destroyed trait. This is because the AI can't cope with a player sallying out, and is easy to destroy. If you lift the siege with a second army (causing a field battle), the DANGER trait will go away.
So if you don't want Rep Destroyed....don't sally
Just started playing and noticed that my reputation kept going down, despite the fact I was playing on M/VH.
Was there a change made to the reputation system? I usually keep to sacking and ransoming so my reputation shouldn't take a hit.
I thought sacking a settlement has always lowered your rep?
Occupy - Raise rep
Sack - Neutral
Exterminate - Lowers rep
At least from what I have seen in Vanilla.
Just started a new game Byzantine played custom battle using guard pike and Aquabus... The Muskets have bowman sound when firing it is very faint but still a bug. The Pike textures seem a little mixed with some of the helmets having what looks like chain mail stuck to the side? i have gave them amour upgrade in custom battle. does any one else get this??
