Re: Failed to initialise 3d audio
The best way I know for Rome and BI is a complete uninstall and reinstall. I don't have Alexander to know but probably the same routine.

Re: Failed to initialise 3d audio
There never was one made.
1. In Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, uninstall all of Rome's games you have installed. Alexander, then BI, Them Rome.
2. Delete the Rome folder.
3. Run a good free registry cleaner.
4. Reboot the computer.
5. Install Rome, then BI, the Alex if you have it, the BI 1.5 patch if not, then the Alex patch, at least I think there is one.
Now, does it work?

Re: Failed to initialise 3d audio
Are you logged in as Administrator?
Have you disabled the UAC?
Have you set the game's icon(s) to "Run as Administrator" and "XP Compatible"?
