Why did you remove Archer Chariots from Pontos is it unhistorical?
+ The temple guard unit sounds great cant wait to see the Sabaeans new roster.

Here are some shots of new Sabaean units. I decided to keep stealing stuff from the Persians in Alexander, rather than use the Berbers from BI.
Dom9127: Yes, the archer chariot units were anachronistic. But we are assuming that the Sabaeans had a more old-fashioned eastern style military, so they might not be out of place in the Sabaean roster.
Kara Kolyo: We could make the Indo-Hellenic Hoplites AOR units for Greek factions.
Dang - I preferred the Berber look.
Still, at least they have got those Zulu's on the run......
Now him I like...
Double headed axe perhaps? With a smaller blade?

very good!
Perhaps you could re skin the indo-hellenic hoplites, as having Indian soldiers but
having white Greek officers. Or were they pure Hellenic units.
"We don't need no stinking Berbers..."
I withdraw my previous Dang unconditionally.
Whats with all the javelin chuckers ? Why not there HC be a lancer ?
I guess because the Sabeans are being run as a faction that Alexander and the Macedonians never came across. Never having been hammered by companion cavalry they haven't seen the power of lancers and still have the old persian style cavalry with javelins and sword?
i like it because it makes them that bit different
1) Antesignani
2) Roman
3) Post marian
4) elite
5) muscled cuirass, javelin, spear, shield
6) recruited exclusively in Italy
7) used in EB roster
8) antesignani were an elite unit used often to scout ahead the legion.
The fittest legionaries were equipped with a muscled cuirass that gave comparable protection to the standard legionary armour but was lighter.
This allowed them to be faster than legionaries while at the same time their spears gave them decent protection from cavalry.
Thanks to their training they should be able to form shield wall, basically being triarii on steroids and second only to Praetorians in skill.
They were the roman answer to the need of reliable vanguard infantry without having to rely on foreign auxiliaries
1) Red Sea Marine Archers/Merchant Marine Archers
2) AOR/Merc
3) 3rd-1st C. BC
4) better than average archers for range and accuracy (lethality?)
5) little or no armor, with a good bow and an average knife
6) Along the Red Sea coasts and eastern Arabia, possibly the entire Indian Ocean coasts?
7) Diodorus writes about Pirates attacking merchants on Red sea trade routes during Ptolemaic rule. Strabo also talks of Pirates, but he mention merchants hiring archers to help fend off the pirates in the Red sea. If there's a demand for archers along the red sea it's reasonable to expect there to be large numbers of archers there looking for work as mercenaries. Plus the Middle East was full of archers during most of ancient history.
8) Heres the website were I got the idea for Marine Archers
http://nabataea.net/who1.html
I bet a dismounted bedouin archer or even just an eastern archer would make a good base model/skin.
Why don't we have the GCS get their own SPecfic Hoplites just like the spartans.
Μολών λαβέ ! (Come and get Them!),"So much the better," replied Leonidas, "for we shall fight them in the shade."
I like the idea of the phoeni archer model, but I feel that any faction should be able to hire these guys as Mercs if not AORs. The Ptolemies and Seleucids had tons of merchant ships on the eastern seas and would have had access to them, so maybe give the Sabaeans the unit as a regular unit but also make them an AOR/Merc on the eastern coasts.
GREGORIOS TG: I'm planning to add a Perioici unit to Sparta, which will be a better than average hoplite unit, using one of ATGs models/skins. I'm also inclined to convert the GCS hypaspists into a hoplite unit, to create a little more distinction between the GCS and Macedonian rosters.
Zarax & Maraxus: I like both unit ideas.
