Default World of the nightbreed's; (the map)

This is a shot of the original concept for the map, the basic idea was to create a world centred around a huge river with various islands dotted along it's course, as there will be few if any pirate ships the ability of the AI to launch sea invasions is greatly improved, something which we found in EOD I made game play far more unpredictable, The town's and villages are some, but not all of the settlements included in game.

This is a later concept map made for various bit of 2d artwork within the mod, here you can see a basic layout of the starting positions of each faction.

And so on to a few shots of the in game map..which is still in a work in progress (wip)

It's the normal situation - design concept by Halie, boring bits by Mak -
the new ground_type textures are by Halie (after a bit of prompting)

There might be a "Mak - something" city yet - the map is growing a few regions as it develops....

Gorgeous map. Resembles the world while having its own unique twist too ^_^

im looking forward to plating on a map that is alien to me.

playing the same maps over and over dosnt give you the same enjoyment as exploring a new one with many suprises

Pretty much the same line as Celtic Champion, it will be interesting to play on an unfamiliar map.

looking at the map pictures above the towns seem quite a distance appart, but will the movement support the distances over the map?

i think what im trying to say is how many turns will it take to move between settlements?

This something that we might need to look at, but until we have a fully testable version we won't know...

Just a thought, would it be possible for the humans to move slower than the lycans, and vampires moving the faster still,

    as they would anyway.
could make it interesting, and what about lycans and vamps being able to move faster during night battles

Movement speeds are tricky to balance in battles and Mak did a pretty good with EOD 1, so i think we'll use the same formula, the obvious problem is when you find foot units out run cavalry, which is annoying to play...

there isn't anyway at all to do that. Speed in battle depends either on the terrain type unit is standing on, or its' animation (of which there are not many to choose from - and I don't think Halie is volunteering to make new ones)

Neither of those two aspects anyway can be altered between day / night battles.

ok, but what about troop movement on the campaign map.

i take it vamps and lycans can (in the story) move faster than mortals?
