Here mine the Chaparral2e by Jim Hall. Probably the most innovative racer constructer ever. He and the Chaparrals he designed were the firsts in many areas. The 2E used an automatic transmission. Even today this is unheard of in all out sports car racing. It was also the first to mount a moveable wing on struts. Later on one oh his cars used 2 snowmobile engines and a lexan skirt to suck the car to the ground. Problem was if your were behind you would get stoned. It sucked the pavement right off the track. Brabham later used it on one of their F-1 cars and it was banned after only 1 race. It also gave Colin Chapman the idea for his Lotus and started the whole 'ground effects' rage still popular today. Well heres the car. I hope you all like it Its an oldy but goody from 1966-67

Heres the car running at Bridgehampton Raceway here on Long Island. This is from the Can Am race there. The fastest cars on earth at the time. At the end they were running 9 liter chevys and 5 liter dual turbo Porches.

Here you go buddy. I think this is the same model These are all 196 sp's Some have been altered by the factory during production with different grills and scoops, Seeing as it has the same number theres a good chance this is the same car factory modified.

    Nice images.

Went to an autoshow and saw one that was used in a race in the 60s and it was well worth the trip to see it.

I always like the Shelby cobra as well which was used in racing.

There are companies that make replicas of these are are actually very nice. I will definitely consider buying one in the future.

Heres the most famous cobra ever. Even though only 6 were ever built. The Shelby Cobra Daytona

Only if you think winning your class at Lemans and finishing 4th over all and winning countless A production titles in SCCA counts

The black one in the big picture is absolutely stunning, isn't it? The damn (computer driven) GT40 in Gran Tourismo used to always give me fits at Laguna Seca. I haven't played that game in years, and it still pisses me off.

I think Ford did a wonderful job sort of bringing it back with the new version:

It looks pretty damn good in my opinion.

I'm afraid I prefer the old version due to the reasons you mentioned (GT 2) .Used to win me races and it was such a beaut. The new one is a good job of intergrating retro and tech. Just the racing colours of the original just push it ahead
