is there any way to put hotseat into SS?

The same way you enable it in the regular game but instead of putting the added settings into the medieval2.cfg file you put it into the stainless steel file.
In the file stainless_steel.cfg open it with notepad and add the following lines.

[multiplayer]
playable = true

[hotseat]
autoresolve_battles = 0
disable_console = 0
disable_papal_elections = 0
save_prefs = 1
update_ai_camera = 1
validate_diplomacy = 1
turns = false
scroll = false

P.S.

You may want to change some of these settings but this is how I like it.
