I am going to begin a Portugal campaign next (probably). So far started a new Spanish campaign.
1 thing I forgot to say before that I noticed again as the Spanish-- rebel Dismounted Mailed Knights are not showing properly on the battlemap. There is image for them, just a banner. Interestingly, where they are kicks up a little dust and so on, but there is no image.

Might want to wait a while on that Portugal campaign, I'm getting very close to releasing v0.2 Beta! Portugal will have lovely new shields and banners thanks to joedreck!
Yeah, I caught the Rebel Ghost D. Mailed Knights last night playing a siege.
It's been corrected (forgot to give the rebels ownership of them in the modelsdb).
I'll post some update screens in a bit. I need to get some coffee first!![]()
I tried replicating this last night and couldn't find anything. I did move Coimbra north one square as it was previously on a hill so maybe that was it. I'm testing out Portugal and Spain right now as I'm pretty close to releasing the next update. Hopefully, it's resolved!
Cheers!
UPDATE!

PRO DEO ET REGE V0.2 BETA COMING SOON!
WOW. I love that you are incorporating all this good work from other modders into your mod (so I don't have too... I'm practically techno-illiterate next to you guys...)!
I was palying as the moors and when I defeated the spanish army and was going to conquer the city I got a CTD.
v0.2 Beta has been released
Please post any feedback, suggestions or bug reports here. Thank you.
Cheers!
Socal_infidel,
quick question about Portugal's roster compared with Spain's:
I usually will choose Spain instead because of better late units (that is, Portugal has similar units until late game). Is it the same with your mod? What are the roster differences?
Oh, & I'll download and try to play Portugal some tomorrow.
Any version using Bigmap? And Late Era mod?
I have just played for a little but I see some remarkable improvement. Nice job!
p.s. Later I will try and give detailed comments.
The Portuguese unit roster sticks pretty close to how it was in vanilla. So no drastic differences that way.
I made Coimbra a rebel province from the get-go. So now Portugal has an even better chance to expand down the coast along its actual borders.
And personally, I'm really digging their new banners and shields thanks to joedreck!
At this time, I'm not using BigMap. Personally I find the coasts and mountain ranges pretty unaesthetically pleasing. But it is certainly an option I am strongly considering.
What's this Late Era mod of which you speak? This mod does make use of tornnight's era system. So certain units are not available to recruit until a certain era (e.g. units wearing plate armour are not available to recruit until the era when plate techonology has been invented). So no late-era units on the battlefield in 1150 A.D.
Cheers!
I played a nice bit of Portugal today. Nice changes (banners /shields). I think the starting position was pretty easy to expand from, given starting armies.
One negative: not a single province title. No general, heir, faction leader, or family member was given a single title.
Otherwise the BBB features seemed to work as before--I got some ordained family members due to church training, or some "court educated" (never did get the military education as I don't have high enough level castle).
Pretty active rebels, which is nice. You might want to put the landbridge back to N.Africa. Otherwise it is pretty easy to expand by just playing nice (marriage, anyone?) with Spain and concentrating on measured expansion vs. rebels.
Again, battles are not gaining command stars for family members.
A nice touch was the renaming of rebel regions from Lisbonia to eg. Combria when I take them over.
I like the slower expansion, but still enough activity to be pleasing.
The $$ seem about right, too.
Yeah, that's next on my list of things to do. I haven't had the chance to add province titles for the new provinces yet. But I'll get to it.
Yeah, I'm going to have to revisit the landbridge b/t N. Africa and Iberia.
Is it just the family members who aren't receiving command stars? Glad your enjoying the campaign so far. Cheers!
I would rather you stay with the current map. Bigmap lags more and looks kinda silly imo. I do like the larger map for the gameplay, but I think the way you have it now is just as good as bigmap. Provinces are spaced well, you can't mass expand, and unit movement is just right. I wouldn't mind having it as an option, but plz continue to support the current map.
Here are my first comments so far:
AOR- Seems unchanged, which is good becuase at this stage its perfect.
Faction Balance- Much better then before. The Turks are actually a threat. However, I would still give them more land in the ME to show that they profited off of Manzikert(1072). However, the only faction without balancing was Denmark. The HRE quickly conquered it when I played as Denmark. Denmark needs another provinve to the south at the bottom of the Jutland or else the HRE just steamrolls through. Also, as I said before Genoa has nothing to balance it and adding a rebel province in Liguria would make them more exciting and balanced.
Battle Changes- Very nice! Battles are much more fun even though only looks change.
Economic Changes- Much better then before. However, farming seems useless even in places like the Nile, Netherlands, ect. Maybe making it slightly more profitable would help.
Moors in Iberia- Very good. Now there is no need for a landbridge. However, adding more units to that Moorish army in Iberia might help because the AI can act stupid and once it conqueres Granada it just sits there. However, landbridge isnt that good because the moors would be constantly coming in while historically they would land in waves.
My current Moorish campaign is very fun. I am attempting to create a European-Muslim empire. Maybe it will work maybe it wont. Well, at least I defeated the Pope's navy!
Again, nice job on the mod!

Edit: I was playing as the Moors and had a CTD. This is the second time it happened. It was in the year 1118.

Yeah, I would consider using it if the coastlines and mountain ranges were cleaned up a little. They're quite ugly and somewhat detracting with big maps.
yeah for some reason Denmark doesn't like to expand northwards much. Maybe I'll place an army closer to the town northwest of Kalmar.
And Genoa doesn't seem to like to take on Pisa for some reason or take Corsica. Maybe, I'll give them an army on Corsica to fuel their expansion into the Tyrennian Sea area.
I lowered the amount of income from farming, but did give farms a population bonus to counteract that. So building them does give you bonuses in the form of more taxpayers!
My concern with a landbridge there is, I don't want Spain and Portugal to march so easily into North Africa to wipe out the Moors either! So maybe a larger army is the way to go.
Again, nice job on the mod!

Hmm, I'm very curious about these CTDs you're experiencing with the Moors. Honestly, I haven't experienced any with the majority of campaigns I've auto-run.
Does it happen during battle? Or at the end turn? Also are you able to reload and play past it? Or does it always CTD?
Also if you could post the last 20 lines of the PDER.system.log.txt file in your logs folder when you get the chance, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks for all the feedback!
EDIT - I've noticed some errors in my modified version of the Moors names list. It's quite possible this is the source of the CTD. In the past I've noticed when triggers fire on characters with bad names, you get CTDs. In fact I cleaned one up with a rebel general just prior to releasing the latest beta. Hopefully it's nothing more than this. But if you could still post your PDER.system.log.txt I'd appreciate it.

Sorry I cant find the last 20 lines of the moors since I started my genoese camaign.
That would be good.yeah for some reason Denmark doesn't like to expand northwards much. Maybe I'll place an army closer to the town northwest of Kalmar.
No problem. Hopefully, I'll get it resolved by cleaning up the names list for the Moors.
good luck with the genoese campaign. I had a rather fun little 30 year-campaign with them the other night. Florence and Milan rebelled from HRE and I was able to snatch Florence.
I was also able to snatch up Corsica and Sardinia, too. I was building up my forces and getting ready to launch a North Africa campaign but then I had to go to dinner with the girlfriend!
Oh, and I noticed that there are "Ghost Mounted Sergeants" in some of the Italian city-states. It's a bug I'm aware of, so don't be surprised to find a riderless horse in one of those settlements.
Thanks again for feedback mate!
