The last time I used photoshop was six years ago , but now I need it for reskinning. I know how to draw using the tools and paintbrush and airbrush and all (and ink maybe), but that's about it.

You will still be able to participate without signing up? IE seeing the assignments and having access to all material, without having to hand anything in (and be graded)? Because I'd be interested but I'd rather have someone with more dedication having my place. (Plus I work every day now, so my time is limited).

WEll...Im sorta a maybe at this point...I do not have photoshop, just Gimp. Would I be able to learn much using Gimp instead and following the course? If not I might be able to get PS, at least the trial version or something. If I cant then, oh well.

Arakorn: All the material will be released, but generally one won't have access to crits and one on one help... if you have me on your MSN you will of course, though, if you ask.

Hader: I've used the GIMP for about 10 minutes... from what I know, much of the stuff will be applicable, as the tools are largely similar. Its worth it to go through the tutorials at least, if not the class in general... it will be hard for me to give specific instructions since I don't know the software if you don't know how to use the software already. But if you are good with GIMP (ie, you know what most of the tools generally do) then you should be fine.

Oli: There is a course outline in my Classroom. Every or every other week I will post a video tutorial, and assign an assignment. When you finish the assignment you will post it for crits.

There will be some announcements soon about rewards, rewards, and incentives for completing courses satisfactorily.

Celph: This course takes as much time as you want to put in. And the more you put in, the more you take out.

Its both. I'm currently working for a startup company in the games industry. You can check out my work at www.robg3d.com . I'd also be an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop if I could just get around to taking that test...

Well I have used Gimp forever really...I am familiar with most of the tools and features, so I guess I can try this.

Experience is all with Gimp, mostly just simple 2D art. Some skinning too, but they pretty much sucked

I want to improve my expertise in Photoshop. I have a working knowledge (I taught myself) and even used it to make a game. I thought I had done a pretty good job, considering that I'm an amateur etc. I even received some praise, but then a guy who works in some graphics company bought it and turned me off when he started asking if something was wrong with his files. Nothing was wrong... he just didn't like my art!

I've fiddled around with Photoshop before, but nothing spectacular. The truth is I've always lacked the sense of purpouse necessary to explore in depth a tool that isn't exactly what I do for a living. I hope that having a real schedule to keep up to, with schedules and everything, will provide the discipline required to finally find out whether I could be any good at this or not.

I would like to join. I have always wanted to learn Photoshop as well as some of you guys so I can make my own skins and units and other cool stuff. I used Photoshop once in my school so I have a very basic knowledge. I would like to know more since this knowledge will help me a lot in other stuff certainly apart from TW and I would like to be considered to join in.

Sign me up. I've got experience with Photoshop, I've designed a few websites with it and various graphics and enhanced personal photos. I'm familiar with layers and most of the tools. I've got no formal experience, self taught myself with a book back in 2001. I own CS3.

I've been playing rome for a few years now with quite a few different mods. Arthurian is my new favorite. I'd like to take a stab a creating a few units and could maybe help out one of the mod teams.
