Default XGM - Diadochi Recruitment thread

As this mod is growing larger and larger a need for more people grows as new features keep coming up.
If you do not know anything about this mod, then here are the basics:

XGM - Diadochi is an addon mod for the Extended Greek Mod, it aims for more historical accuracy and realistic, yet balanced for fun gameplay.

The list of factions is as follows:

    The Seleucid Empire
    The Kingdom of Macedon
    The Kingdom of Epirus
    The Kingdom of Pergamum
    Independent Greek Cities
Bactria / The Aegean League - this will be decided later, possibly an option during installment
    The Ptolemaic Empire
    The Roman Republic
    The Achaean League
    Carthage
    Parthia
    Kingdom of Pontus
    The Aedui (gauls)
    The Arverni (gauls)
    Germans
    Armenia
    Getai
    Scythia
    Iberians
    Thrace
    And ofcourse, Independent People
    -------------------------------------------------------------
XGM - Diadochi addon crew at the moment is as is listed below:

    Factional texture rework: Maraxus
    Everything else: RedFox
    -------------------------------------------------------------
So yeah, basically, what we need is:

    Campaign Map Editor: vacant
A new campaign map to be implemented, base outline will be given, only need to get it working with all regions/resources.

    Modelers:
(not really necessary, but would be nice)
    -Environment models: vacant
    -City Models: vacant
    -Unit Models: vacant

    Texture artists:
Need more greek skins, barbarians need a complete overhaul with CLOTHES and post marian romans need to be less Trajan.

    -Barbarian Textures: vacant
    -Greek Textures: vacant
    -Misc textures: vacant
    -Faction icons/banners: vacant

    3D Artists:

If anyone here has at least the same basic knowledge of 3ds Max 9 and VRay, please step up, I will provide proper scenes, all you have to do is set up the rendering engine, pose the models and render them + multifactional colours.
This will be a time consuming work, but someone has to do it.

    Historians:

    Locky:
    -Macedon
    -Pergamum
    -Epirus
    -Greek Cities
    -Thracians
    -Getai
    Da Erobara:
    -Seleucid
    -Ptolemy
    -Parthians
    -Scythians
    Bootsiuv:
    -Rome
    -Carthage
    -Iberians
    -Germans
    -Gauls

    ---------------------------------------------------------
Bug tester - someone who knows the wierd RTW bugs/ctd's really well and knows the solution for such problems.
    -Campaign map bugs: vacant

    ---------------------------------------------------------

So, if you think you have the skills to make good quality textures and models, know history well enough, or any other necessary skills, then please step up and join the cause.
Be warned though as quality control is pretty much devastating, but will ensure that crap (I know, rough words) gets filtered out and the public gets only the good stuff.

Oh and please, no spam posts, I hope Dime or Zarax will sticky this and any posts that don't have anything to do with recruiting or "I wish I could model" posts will get removed.

Can i be your historian? Because my modding abilties are rather limited, but i can write export_unit text. I'd glady do historical work for the Greeks and Eastern factions and Carthage.

Great, I'll sign you up, I'll PM you your first assignment, we'll start from the Greeks at first, so I figure it should be your favourite, although time consuming work.

As I said in your AAR Thread, you can count me in on nearly all things related to the Helennes. You already got Locky but... Well, I can try

If we get enough historians, perhaps each one could specialize in a specific faction....might make it a little easier. Just a thought.

That's a good idea! Perhaps I could take on the Seleucids and the eastern Diadochi in general. At last these are the factions I know most about.

Of course you can help help Da Erobara. If that's ok with redfox.

Epirus, Macedon, Pergamum, Seleucids and Ptolemies.

You can have Seleukia since you like them a great deal, and seem to know more then i do about them.

I want Epirus and Makedonia, i'll do Pergamum as well. I'll also do the Ptolemies if you don't want them

This is the layout we're going to use

    Format/layout:

    Unit name:
    Equipment:
    -Shield:
    -Weapons:
    -Armour:
    -Helmet:
    -Miscellaneous:

    Unit cost/turns/upkeep:

    Combat effectiveness:

    Brief description:

Its nice to see a team growing. After you guys get organized you should post faction rosters for me to get started recoloring. I have most done for Epirus, Attlaids and half the Achaeans but they are all basically the same, some variation would be nice, and I honestly don't know too much about micro history.

Also Redfox has me currently making unique shields for most hoplon carrying units, some suggestions would be welcomed. I'm going off of Wargame Foundry Miniatures designs and also of any real period shield pics I can find on the internet. And I have some simple designs in my head too but brainstorming is always a good idea.

add of course some gratuitous eye candy

    Simply love the new variations

Alright, so the historian's assignments are here:

    Locky:
    -Macedon
    -Pergamum
    -Epirus
    -Greek Cities
    -Thracians

    Da Erobara:
    -Seleucid
    -Ptolemy
    -Parthians
    -Scythians
    -Getai

    Bootsiuv:
    -Rome
    -Carthage
    -Iberians
    -Germans
    -Gauls

Make sure you guys write those down, the assignments should be pretty much evenly divided now.

Unfortunatelly i'm quite bussy right now so i won't be able to offer full time assistance, but Locky if you need some help with the thracians i'm ready to help. Can't promise to deliver original machairas and thracian helms since they are quite expencive on the black market here, not to mention that it's illegal, but i guess that one year thracology in uny won't hurt....

Alright, so I think the historians are set at the moment.

Zarax, if you can, merge, delete and cut the posts, though leave Locky's unit details example intact. - I have moved everything necessary to the first post.

Oh, I don't really know a lot about Getai and Scythians. I just know that Skythians were in a constant state of decline in that period, as they have been driven off their homeland by the Sarmatians. The Scythians mainly became settled around the Crimea and only their Nobles could afford enough horses to ride on them in battle. But the remnants of skythian nomads north of the Crimea still had some reputation as horse archers.
I will be glad to help your mod as good as I can! I'll try to do some Seleucid units today, if I get the time.
