    Poll: Re: Music

God-damn, listening to some tracks form M2's soundtrack is making me remember what good TW sounds like. Hectic, violent, gruesome...the battle music just fits it so well. Rome 2, by comparison, has...

  3. Poll: Re: An Interactive/Sensible Approach to Siege Escalation

Agreed. Siege weapons in R2 make it feel like Saving Legionary Maximus, so I wasn't surprised to see that. That said, I've been playing Rome 2 with some mods that affect AI recruitment - namely that...
  4. Re: How the traits and character systerm looks in Attila Totalwar?

The UI of Attila just blows Rome's 2 out of the water. I obviously haven't played Attila, nor seen more than a few screens/vids, but what I have seen is just so much better, hands down.
  5. Poll: Re: An Interactive/Sensible Approach to Siege Escalation

Have you seen Rome 2's siege AI? Remember what it was like on release? It's certainly come a long way, but it's still got its fair share of problems - speaking from personal, recent experience,...

  7. Poll: Re: An Interactive/Sensible Approach to Siege Escalation

It's not semantics play, it's a fact. You're claiming that he stated something as a fact, he didn't. The opening post clearly states he isn't claiming to know that CA are doing it one way and he...
  8. Poll: Re: An Interactive/Sensible Approach to Siege Escalation

Wrong, it's more like "going by CA's track record and what you know speculate on the upcoming mechanic, but openly state that you could be wrong, and actively hope that you are." Since that's...

    Re: Instant transports are back!

I'd prefer it if the game had it so that building a fleet would not just be dangerous (as seen in them being weak to real ships) but actually cost you something. So before getting into the water some...
  10. Poll: Re: An Interactive/Sensible Approach to Siege Escalation

Do you have variations of this saved to copy/paste? Considering that the OP even said he can't claim what this will be like for sure:

I'm almost wishing that CA really do balls this up and...
  11. Re: One step closer to 'Hotseat' functionality in Rome 2:

Speak for yourself. This is a pretty awesome development OP, hopefully something good comes of it. Can't say I understand why hotseat wasn't included in R2, seeing as it was pretty popular in...

Weren't Napoleon and FOTS also stand-alone games that didn't drastically change the graphics? I haven't played either but that's the impression I've always gotten, if so seems to be CA's MO these days

    Re: patch 16.

Unlikely that any will be coming. They patched it to Emperor Edition, 15 patches, over the span of a year, which is their general track record for patching TW games. Now it's on to Attila.

Re: Question for 'Rome 2 Vanilla' - Lovers

    That'll be a no, then.
  20. Re: Will cities like Rome, Constantinople, Alexandria and Ctesiphon look UNIQUE?

If this feature has to be in the game I'd prefer it for the following conditions:

    - it has to be researched in the tech tree; not early, not easy to get
    - it has to require siege engines to...
  21. Re: Will cities like Rome, Constantinople, Alexandria and Ctesiphon look UNIQUE?

I can say that Iknow I haven't heard of any of them using siege weapons or sapping. In fact I've rarely ever heard of anyone other than the Romans or Greeks doing it. The only time I think I can ever...
  22. Re: Will cities like Rome, Constantinople, Alexandria and Ctesiphon look UNIQUE?

You know of the Franks, Saxons and Picts tunneling under Roman walls or "bombarding them" with their catapults, do you?
  23. Re: Will cities like Rome, Constantinople, Alexandria and Ctesiphon look UNIQUE?

    Historical certainly = good
Historical accuracy to 100% = not good, because then you're basically playing CK2, which is far more complex than TW games have ever been

    If walls of a besieged...

  27. Can I change which settlements I own in an ongoing campaign?

Re: I dont really get the new raze city feature

Didn't even consider the rise of Islam, that'd be interesting, but too difficult to do properly. For the Romans to be accurately depicted there'd have to be massive public disorder from the start,...
