Everyone who work and have worked on EBII, thank you so much for all your hard work, I can't express with words how much respect I have for everyone of you. I've been following this project for 8...
Thanks, that's great to hear! :D
Is there anyone else who think that re-emergent factions would be fun and useful for EB2? I am unfortunetly no good at modding, and would not be able to port this myself, even though the tutorial...
I generally don't like garrison scripts, but I could see the use for it in capital cities, especially for the cramped greek peninsula. Maybe everyone could get a capital garrison script that stop...
Congratulations!
Do you feel that increased historical accuracy detracts from or increases the excitement/enjoyment of such games?
Strongly Increases (5).
As a result of playing Europa...
Thanks for the answer! I did take a look at the roman province ancilliaries to see if I could do something about it myself, but I immediately realised that it was waaaaay over my modding "skills" :(
Great work, B0gia! I have a question, what are your thoughts/plans on Rome? Have you considered porting the existing Provinciae trait/ancillary system existing in EB1? It would be a great service to...
Quintus, the Light_spear change was savegame compatible for me.
They where different in the EB1, it's just those units aren't in the build yet. And the Belgii units arent in there either. On a further note, there are unused factions slots. :thumbsup2
You can see...
Gonna use this for my new 2.01 campaign, I'll be back later with some feedback!
Thank you EB2 team :)
What if you make them recruitable, but the client ruler trait comes with a severe penalty? for example:
- a trait similar to the supply trait that gets worse and worse every turn the character is...
Dodge, according to your posts in other threads you're perfectly capable of using english. Why don't you use that to describe what you want in a more descriptive manner? :)
WAD81, I tried your fix, and in my opinion, skirmishers are behaving exactly like they should be now apart from the tight formation. Seriously, my akontistai managed to throw all their javelins...
If you're not too afraid of using console commands you can easily do something like this with the force diplomacy script :) When you feel that the roman republic should've expanded to x region, you...
There might be a stat bug with the hoplite units, by using the spear attribute instead of light_spear. Try a custom battle with two etruscan hoplite units, they are the only hoplite with the light...
Unfortunetly I'm not getting any good performance with these stats. :/ I find especially phalanx on phalanx battles pile up almost immediatly and then swords galore. You are not getting this? :/
...
A very interesting find, Ekdqn, nice catch!
The call of Warhammer mod have recruitable generals that work exactly like in EB1, so it is at least technically possible. And Yes, I do miss them too.
Soo, I was snooping in the campaign files, and ahem, kh_campaign? Tarabostes campagn? ;) ;)
The phalanx back and side was and should be weak. That's kind of the point(huehue) of phalanxes. Op on the front, to unwieldly to defend the back.
Thank you for doing this, Imareaver :)
That doesn't look right, there should be a lot of other entries in your ebII.cfg. The right one should be in the mods/ebII folder.
In rtw editing things that's already in place on earlier builds usually didn't break the save games. So if an update only changes the values of a existing unit or trait, you should be able to keep...
@ mr mojo risin: Is there any specific kind of feedback that you need more of? I'm considering starting another campaign with one of the more peripheral factions, is there anything special to look...
Up until I changed the CAI they where kind of holding their own, though I've bribed away some makedonians sieging Athens once. Neither Makedon nor Koinon used they full stacks. After the new CAI was...
To be honest, I don't think VH on battle difficulty is needed. The best argument I've heard that proposes using h or vh battle difficulty is that it makes the BAI calculations think that it's units...
Installed this and it sure made a immediate difference to my 90+ turn Romani game! Lots of new diplomatic events, Carthage vassalized numidia, I have never seen that happen before, very cool :)...
It feels good to finally be able to play it. Very stable, no endturn ctds. As a first playable beta, this feels like a very firm foundation to keep building and adding to. You did well EB2 team, you...
Buy faster internet you peasants, torrenting 800kb/s over here. ;) Seriously though, it was actually fluctuating pretty wildly in the beginning, but as more and more people are seeding it has been...
Wow, been busy and outside the whole day, got home FIVE minutes after EB2 was released. Talk about timing!
It's been like this since the first version EB 1, why stop now? ;) But somehow I feel this is what EB is all about, dispelling the gross inaccuarices of popular fiction ;) Every person that leaves...
I play extensively through steam, and have never had the problems you're talking about, Lannes 1. Modded Paradox games through steam is no problem whatsoever. Almost all games can be played offline...
People, please, take a deep breath and remember:

I'm with Quintus here, totally saw that trainwreck coming ;) I remember watching a trailer with roman legionaries jumping out of ships on the beach like it was D-day and I was like "Nope".
Also remember that with m2tw recruiting mechanics, you'll probably only be able to have 1 or 2 units of a specific elite. You'll have to use them wisely ;)
To be honest, I think we're overestimating the possibilities of memory allocation editing. As I've understood it, what's possible or feasible is to manipulate hardcoded limits. Things like max number...
I started playing EB back when 1.0 was the newest version, and I was here on the forums when EB 2 was first announced. It's been awhile, and I have EB1 to thank for giving me the final push to study...
Is that really true though? I thought it was just a matter of editing the bat files to point to the new exe? I have the GG version though, so I can't say for sure...
Am I the only one who's exited for what new units there might be in the first release, that we potentially haven't seen in any preview? But to answer the op, I'm looking forward to see...
