    Re: Picard

Just finished the season and as someone who grew up on TNG it pains me to say this but I enjoyed 80% of the season. I really think it went off the rails with the final two episodes. Felt like it...

I've had similar ideas on format. One thing I always thought would be cool is that if in between seasons or in the middle of a season they did a special two hour movie type episode featuring...

    Re: The Star Trek Thread

    2. A show based on Starfleet Academy I think would be the biggest boom or bust option available. It could make for a captivating show, but I'd have fears that it would be too predictable and cliche....

Yeah I don't think he is a bad villain by any means, maybe generic is a bit too harsh.

    Re: Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

I'm inclined to agree with Hannibal here.

Thanos isn't particularly deep or complex. He is a generic villain but the movie added a scene where he had tears when he killed his adoptive daughter so...

    Re: Korea Situation

Nothing is final, but at the moment credit must be given where it is due.

I think there is a very real prospect of peace right now.

Re: The "I just saw" thread

Made the mistake of watching geostorm based on a recommendation from a girl.

It was so bad that I feel like she googled "worst movie of the year" and said she liked it as a way to test me lol
  8. Re: The Putin - Trump Controversy: Here to Stay-Links between Trump and Russia are being officially investigated by the FBI

A fairly common belief prior to the election was that Trump was unqualified for the position and would be in over his head.

If Russian leadership believed that, it shouldn't come as a surprise...

Because they are less effective than conventional weapons. I'm not disputing that. But when a nation cannot afford the same conventional weapons as the US, then chemical weapons can be an appealing...

Re: Lost in Space. Premiere April 13, 2018

That kind of turns me off from the show. Not because I really want to see titties and blood, but because "family shows" typically have bad plots that are fairly shallow. Too much black and white and...
  12. Re: Is Donald Trump mentaly fit for the presidency?

I thought you were speaking only of soldiers.

I just don't buy the sales pitch that we sit back while thousands of civilians die but using a chemical weapon is some red line that requires action....
  13. Re: Is Donald Trump mentaly fit for the presidency?

How many Syrian civilians died due to conventional weapons and how many have died due to chemical weapons?
  14. Re: Is Donald Trump mentaly fit for the presidency?

Not completely, no. But you said it yourself, they terrorize people, and soldiers are people.
There is a tactical benefit to their use.
How many civilians in Syria have died due to chemical...

Usually I agree with you, but here I cannot.
You did just pull that 90%/10% figure out of your rectum right?

Biden without question would have had my vote in 2016.

    Don't care about the EU.
He didn't have much input after 1991 because there was no place for his input. The actor that plays Luke Skywalker is not a small piece.

I think it is fairly straightforward that title VII does not protect the LGBT community.

Title VII protects from discrimination on the basis of sex, race, color, national origin, and religion.
