Yes. The EB team is evil because their limited time and resources are not being focussed on a few barely-relevant Caucasian states. Totally logical thinking. Yes. They are envious of me! I can tell...
Look, you can dislike EB for multiple reasons. But trying to position vanilla as more authentic-to-history is a weak argument at best.
Yup. The UI looks rather dire... I'm cautiously optimistic about some of the changes in functionality however, diplomacy in particular.
Seems like it'd be a lot of work for this already busy team. Hopefully it'll be fully moddable and we'll see a couple of spiritual successors to EB1 and RS.

The iphicrates peltast represents a more professional and multirole form of skirmisher that existed around the time. They were somewhere between a hoplite and psilos, in both battlefield use and...
I'll give this a try tomorrow! Well done lads.
Lucanian Hoplites battle it out w/ the Veneti.

Varu-Military-Settlers. Need some heavy artillery for that invasion of britannia but can't handle the long march? Simple, grant those beasts some land in Gaul and reap the rewards.

Here's my edited version of the armour pack, think I got most of the DEI conflicts. Hopefully it will be of use to someone. Missing weapons seems to have something to do with the Xiphos model, but I...
Mostly compatible. Some textures seem to conflict. You may have to make a few small adjustments.

Been playing a savage campaign on empire divided. Playing as Aurelian and the Sassanids are steamrolling Egypt and Syria. Basically a race against time to reunify the west and bring the full of might...

The default unlock conditions seem to be a fair compromise between history and gameplay. If you think they happen too late in DEI look at EB2; no marian romans until turn 600 or thereabouts....

Oh! The humanity! This criminal must be brought to justice.
Great submod! The pike phalanxes are great in vanilla but I was never completely satisfied with the Hoplites. Fighting Greeks is much more fun for me now.
The Trojan war is not exactly a confirmed historical event. I wouldn't mind if they included a bit of Fantasy, so long as it was derived from stuff actually found in the Iliad and Odyssey.
Yes, as DEI started development YEARS before AE. They are also in making a mod set in an era distinct from the vanilla game, which requires a lot of additional work. Give them a damn break.
How does DEI compare to hugging your children?
Both are great.
EB has advantages in some areas and visa versa for DEI. These are mostly because of the different engines.
Trait system definitely goes to EB2 as the MTW2 engine has a lot more...
:thumbsup2 Excellent. I'm eager to give this a try once I'm through with my Warhammer campaign.
I've played only a little of AE but the thing that stood out to me was the lack of cities in the Mediterranean region. The Attila map just wasn't made for the Hellenistic period in mind and it's a...
It's just five turns for breaking a non-aggression pact or trade agreement as far as a I know.
No I didn't. And you don't get harsh winter every time, it's a 10% chance. Either your game is broke, or you're talking bollocks. Also, I think you're conflating "harsh winter" with "extreme winter",...
The bloody hell did you mean by this
I don't know about the specifics of this area, but keep in mind that ancient climate conditions were different from the modern day.

I think there is a submod to change it back if you so wish. Personally I love this change.
Using spaghetti lines was basically cheating in my opinion, as the AI cannot do it.
The Roman-Lusitani war continues.

If you have the latest version of the game legally bought on steam you’ll be fine. That’s probably the only answer you’ll get here.
The latest.
A thanks to everyone that entered the contest to those who time to vote! Fantastic entries all round. Bloody near run vote this week :laughter:.
