Re: R2:TW GEM - Graphic Enhancement Mod (Version 6.1)

I must be going crazy, but I don't see a GEMClearvision setting in GEM_settings.txt, or anything that resembles it... Under which header should I find it?

This has probably asked a thousand times already, but the thread is huge and the search function didn't help...

Great work! Will the new skins appear in the Augustus DLC campaign?
  7. Sticky: Poll: Re: KLAssurbanipal's UNIT PACKS - general discussion

Any news on the Roman and Hellenistic updates :)?
  8. Re: My biggest fear...

There's already a thread discussing the announcement. Moreover, CA has declared not to long ago that they will never make a game with '3' in the title.

    Re: R:TW 2 steam oddness

When looking at my Steam games, this only happens with Rome 2. I tip I found long ago was to go to task manager, then processes, right click on Steam.exe and change priority to high.

Re: Where are all the patches????

Did you start pc gaming yesterday or something? Steam has been around since 2003. Yes, "gamers" were "notified" by this (as if it's one mass of people that can be contacted in a single way).

    And...

Re: How do I counter horse archers?

True, but counterpoint: you can't put slingers behind your infantry bullet sponges. But great points nonetheless!

Re: How do I counter horse archers?

Some interesting comments, although a bit different from my experience.

    - I personally tried slingers on several occasions, but they didn't seem as effective as archers (damage wise).

Re: How do I counter horse archers?

When fighting the steppe factions as Macedon, this is what I did.

I get that bug too, and only in Rome 2 with torches.

I noticed this problem too with the new update.
  17. Re: Rome: Total War - Music

Great mod guys! I do get a lot of tracks that keep repeating themselves on the campaign map as Macedon. One song plays five times, and only then switches to a new one.

What do you mean in custom battles? You can select both your army and the AI's yourself there.

In the campaign, yes, they do recruit artillery.

  22. Re: Abandoned RTW2 features to allow an early release?

  23. Re: Background for city names on the campaign map gone?

Hmmm, not really a big fan of this. This, combined with the extreme campaign camera, gives a bit of an unpolished feel to the game. Perhaps toggleable submods like in the Darthmods are an option?

Re: [Discussion] Season and Wonders Update

This may sound obvious, but all winter maps are white, plain and boring, and look like they have the same lighting. It makes every map feel the same.

    Re: Rome 2 soldiers' scream

Why yes, but "neutral" usually means "in my language, because I can't hear my own accent". For me, an American or Australian accent would not sound more natural or less forced.

Well I played with the new patch without checking this thread first, and I didn't even notice the new LOD. I'm pretty used to sprites, since they've been in every TW game.
  31. Re: Does shock cavalry tire much faster than other cavalry?

That's something I was wondering myself. I guess the armour rating determines the speed of your cavalry, and how fast they get tired? Or does anyone know of any other factors that influence this?

    Re: Patch 10 Live

26 fps is not bad at all for such a massive strategy game. There are FPS/third person games with a 30 FPS cap, and they don't show thousands of men on screen. I played the Witcher 2 with 25-35 FPS. I...

  34. Re: Wonders showing up in battles ?

Keep in mind that they only added visible wonder in Rome 1 in one of the last patches. I'm not saying they're gonna do that with Rome 2, just that it wasn't always in Rome 1.

There is. Grass details, tree details, unit details all control the distance of, well, details that are displayed, and thus the LOD. They just decreased the distance overall.
  36. Re: Your most useful client states/ satrapies?

Aha, thanks! And that's only for client states (no allies)? Are the levy units indicated with some kind of icon?

How do levies from client states work exactly? Do you use the menu for recruiting mercenaries?
