  1. Re: The "New" Frontier of M2TW Modding: Memory Editing

This project appears to still be alive and well although for whatever reason they have not posted any updates here. Zarathos' account is still active and judging by his profile and the development...

I'm not sure why you showed us that you're not england or scotland. Two less choices in a very standard map.

    I'll say Byzantium.

  8. [Tutorial] Re: How To set up Medieval II for Modding - Updated December 2014

    :P

That just means you have to copy the modfolder into Medieval II/mods

Not all mods come with a professional installer.

Apologies. Aztecs do have boat building abilities. They can build ports and recruit Pirate Ships.

  20. Re: 106 regions in 11 turns! -- NEW MEDIEVAL II BLITZ RECORD

There were still quite a few imperfections (there always will be). There will always be places you can reload to get better results. It's just a matter of if it will actually gain another turn.
  21. Re: 106 regions in 11 turns! -- NEW MEDIEVAL II BLITZ RECORD

Thanks very much for the support!

It is very likely that I will be blitzing again to at least match the 8 turn blitz. I'm not entirely sure if 7 turns is possible but I'll give it a shot!

  25. Re: Spy and Assassin load "cheat"

    Agreed but CPU's don't care. :P

In hotseats, it is viewed as removing the luck element from the game and reducing it to skill. If your spies can always infiltrate settlements, you're on a level...
  26. Re: 106 regions in 11 turns! -- NEW MEDIEVAL II BLITZ RECORD

I agree that cavalry are overpowered but many mods take it to the other extreme and underpower them drastically.

For me, fun is more important than balance so I stick with vanilla.
  27. Re: can you make generals live forever?

Now that I think of it you are correct. The "world" folder is the only one not save game compatible.

    Re: Loading screen glitch

LOL I didn't even know they MADE 4K computer monitors.

Considering that 4K was not even a thing until 2004 there's a very good chance that the game is not compatible with that resolution.

I echo the sentiments of all the other posters that as long as your not intentionally being racist and exaggerating stereotypes you'll be fine.
  30. Re: Rebels don't spawn around my settlements?

Deleting map.rwm is only necessary when you make changes to the map itself (e.g. editing map_regions.tga). Descr_strat and the other text files can be edited and changes will take effect by...
  31. Re: Spy and Assassin load "cheat"

Technically speaking it's not classified as a cheat. A cheat is when you open up the console.
This is more along the lines of a dodgy use of game mechanics.
As for my use of it, it depends...
  32. Re: Where is Richard the Lionheart?!?

He comes on turn 9 around Acre. Don't lose him as he has some pretty neat powers.
  33. Re: can you make generals live forever?

You're correct that there is a file with that variable in it (can't remember the name of it offhand), but no file will change data for previously saved games. Any changes you make to the game code...

  38. Re: 106 regions in 11 turns! -- NEW MEDIEVAL II BLITZ RECORD

Hey In3x! It's great to hear from you! You and Legend are my primary inspirations for beginning to blitz the game. Your Sicily blitz absolutely fascinated me when I first read it. ;)
  39. Re: The "New" Frontier of M2TW Modding: Memory Editing

Lets not make jokes about that here.

    Anyway,
It's great to know that this project is still being worked on. Good luck Zarathos!
  40. Re: 106 regions in 11 turns! -- NEW MEDIEVAL II BLITZ RECORD

While that may be true for some, I have always returned to the vanilla game from mods.
