  1. Re: What's the deal with Pavise (tower shield) spearmen being in universal use in 15th century ?

Pavise shields were pretty widespread in Western Europe. You can find them in records of inventories, artwork, and even artifacts. Pavise shields aren't only prevalent to a group in popular...

Re: Medieval Kingdoms Total War: Kingdom of Sweden

Sami didn't provide military units. They paid the tax of fish and leather instead. I'll have to do some more reading around for Finnish Tribes. I can't find anything on Dalecarlians except toy horses...

We're working on name changes that will allow something like the County of Toulouse rename itself into an Empire, or a Kingdom depending on how much it makes sense for the pope to grant. We already...

[Tool] Re: Official 3DS Max 2018 export plugin

I'm beating myself up trying to figure out how to get the 2018 version to work. When I start to look for the bones to rig the helmet to under the skin modifier, 2018 3DS Max crashes on me, and I...

    Small tweaks and suggestions

Very nice mod to play while I'm working on MKTW. A few things that sort of bothered me while playing.

Siege weapons literally fire like 19th-20th century artillery. The rounds make sense being a...

Re: Medieval Kingdoms Total War: Kingdom of Sweden

The different tiers determine military technology of the time. Sweden is just lacking later technological units at the moment.
  9. Sticky: Re: Medieval Kingdoms Total War Screenshots and Videos Thread

@ndm659, you should try paying attention to what era each unit belong to in your videos, because it looks weird when I see 13th century units mixed in with 15th century units. You can tell the...
  10. Sticky: Re: [Download & Installation] Ancient Empires: Total War Attila - Update May 20th

Yeah, please have a Google Drive download. Steam is not doing its job of downloading, and I don't see any of the pack files in my data folder.
  11. Re: Armor Effectiveness and other combat related issues

In the next update, weapons and armour are getting a total overhaul. Hold in your breath until after you witness the game balance on the next big release. Attila Total War is a typical arcade style...
  12. Re: On the campaign, how will time-period transition be handled and how will the AI react to it?

Haha. Glad to see someone have a similar concern. Basically the tech tree will funnel military technology into one large tech unlock that works similar to the Roman reformations (one big f***in...

  16. Re: Medieval Kingdoms Total War: Republic of Venice (Complete Preview at Last!)

Pauli might've confused reflex bows with "medium-longbows", as I remember something somewhere discussing about Venetian navies wielding Eastern style bows instead of the typical crossbow.

Peasants should definitely be something provided as a city garrison unit, rather than a recruitable unit, because historically they're the same thing as a levy force.

We're likely going to texture the fortifications and city structures differently to cut time corners. Depends if the team recruits somebody focused entirely on producing city assets.

@finix, tier 3 macemen wouldn't have chichaks like that until the 16th century. That would be too much of a Mameluke helmet during the 15th century.

  29. Re: Zagwe Dynasty of Ethiopia: Some historical review (on the 1174 AD)

The reason I made a big fuss over this, is because the idea of anything past 1212 A.D. becomes pseudo history, and there is little sense in making something "accurate" past the technological time...

Re: Medieval Kingdoms Total War: Kingdom of Sweden

  40. Sticky: Re: Medieval Kingdoms Total War: Campaign Map Master Thread

We have yet to compile our work together and really visualize how far along we are. Ideally we want our basic campaign done in a month or two. No promises though. Expect us to keep prolonging things.
