  1. Could someone explain the basics of MP campaign to me? (campaign options, save/load, battles etc)

As the title says, I know nothing about MP campaigns since I've never played one before but my friend is visiting and we're able to play on laptop and PC. The thing is I have no idea what the options...
  2. Sticky: Re: [Release] SSHIP - Beta v0.8.2 downloadable - 21st of April 2014

Sweet! I was only trying to get it since the instructions specify you need it for 0.82, been a bit out of the loop so didn't realise there was another update coming. Is that another 0.8x / 0.9 update...
  3. Sticky: Re: [Release] SSHIP - Beta v0.8.2 downloadable - 21st of April 2014

0.81 link doesn't work for me. "Certificate authentication failed" or however it goes.

EDIT: also, have any changes been made to the political system, ie loyalty/usurper etc? This is probably the...

    Re: [Preview] Armenia overhaul

Wow, those are incredible! Can't wait. I remember straying from my usual Roman/Carthaginian/Greek tendencies when it comes to RTW campaigns and giving Armenia a go waaay back in the early days of...

Re: How does VV differ from DEI?

    Thanks, Magnar, appreciate the response.

I take it that the mod won't update on Steam and that I should keep an eye on this forum for updates and the like, then?

Re: How does VV differ from DEI?

Will it be save-game compatible or am I better off just waiting for it to be released and then playing?

Is army recruitment still being worked on?

I decided to give this mod a go today as Macedon, and quit within a few turns due to the composition of an AI army. The Odrysian Kingdom decided to send an army made purely of skirmishers against me....
  9. Re: I hope we will be able to return to 1v1 battles in the campagin again

The issue with garrisons is that, well to be honest, I feel the garrisons themselves are typically pretty weak unless you build a bunch of barracks in them. With the AI fielding near to full stacks...
  10. Sticky: Re: Why is CA not asking questions for ideas in Atilla?.

So you think that Lionheart's wrong when he asks "Why is CA not asking questions for ideas in Atilla?"

    Cool, discussion over then!
  11. Re: how will the AI deal with barbarian mass migration?

this is soething ive been thinking about too. will there even be the horde mechanic in attila? I haven't heard anything about it, although maybe I've just not been following closely enough.

  12. Sticky: Re: Why is CA not asking questions for ideas in Atilla?.

I'm not denying that companies don't ask/don't listen to feedback, but I don't expect anyone to drop by from CA and say "so, guys, what do you want us to put in the game?" and expect them to follow...
  13. Sticky: Re: Why is CA not asking questions for ideas in Atilla?.

I lean more towards this. I don't know of any company that's put up a poll on forums and asked consumers for their opinions on what's needed, for instance. Part of the reasoning behind it would imply...

God-damn, listening to some tracks form M2's soundtrack is making me remember what good TW sounds like. Hectic, violent, gruesome...the battle music just fits it so well. Rome 2, by comparison, has...

  16. Poll: Re: An Interactive/Sensible Approach to Siege Escalation

Agreed. Siege weapons in R2 make it feel like Saving Legionary Maximus, so I wasn't surprised to see that. That said, I've been playing Rome 2 with some mods that affect AI recruitment - namely that...
  17. Re: How the traits and character systerm looks in Attila Totalwar?

The UI of Attila just blows Rome's 2 out of the water. I obviously haven't played Attila, nor seen more than a few screens/vids, but what I have seen is just so much better, hands down.
  18. Poll: Re: An Interactive/Sensible Approach to Siege Escalation

Have you seen Rome 2's siege AI? Remember what it was like on release? It's certainly come a long way, but it's still got its fair share of problems - speaking from personal, recent experience,...

  20. Poll: Re: An Interactive/Sensible Approach to Siege Escalation

It's not semantics play, it's a fact. You're claiming that he stated something as a fact, he didn't. The opening post clearly states he isn't claiming to know that CA are doing it one way and he...
  21. Poll: Re: An Interactive/Sensible Approach to Siege Escalation

Wrong, it's more like "going by CA's track record and what you know speculate on the upcoming mechanic, but openly state that you could be wrong, and actively hope that you are." Since that's...

    Re: Instant transports are back!

I'd prefer it if the game had it so that building a fleet would not just be dangerous (as seen in them being weak to real ships) but actually cost you something. So before getting into the water some...

    Re: patch 16.

Unlikely that any will be coming. They patched it to Emperor Edition, 15 patches, over the span of a year, which is their general track record for patching TW games. Now it's on to Attila.

  33. Re: Will cities like Rome, Constantinople, Alexandria and Ctesiphon look UNIQUE?

    - it has to be researched in the tech tree; not early, not easy to get
    - it has to require siege engines to...
