Pikes sacrifice defense and mobility for offence and are best used in defensive battles or against armies with lots of melee infantry and cavalry. Spears sacrifice offence for more defense and...
@Suren-Pahlav
That isn't happening in my game, when my Generals die they are always replaced with new rank 1 generals. Someone please tell me that's the case so i know im not going crazy
Guys please read the first post, I already mentioned knowing about the locations you both posted.
I guess sometimes you just have to pick randomly and get lucky with generals age, hopefully CA...
Hey does anyone know where i can find this information, I'm talking specifically about recruiting a new general. I know how to find the age of generals that have already been recruited.
Sometimes...
It's never been an issue in other TW games, Medieval 2 : Byz , Turks , HRE , Mongols all started out pretty overpowered with more money , units and settlements than any other faction. Empire had...
I see Rome kinda like USA today, best equipment large numbers and large military budget but individual soldiers are not the best while Spartan Heroes and elite Macedon are equivalent to SBS and SAS...
That's because you can't conquer in today's world but USA prevented Germany , Russia , China from becoming super powers and became the dominant political and economic power in the World that's pretty...
I've been preventing it thinking it would just happen again and again. I guess i'll start new campaigns, wasted so much gold and hired crappy generals when i would have been better off just letting...
Cultural Influence comes from power or conquest, It has always been that way and still is today. Conquest not so much as technology and modern communication allows influence to spread but even still...
What happens after the civil war, does the process start again or will there be no more civil wars after?
Has anyone tried using a Champion with level 3 stratagem (Military harass skill)
It gives
-30 melee attack for all units
-30 melee defense for all units
-30 shots per minute for all enemy units...
You should plan and specialize each province instead of putting the same stuff in each settlement. Have one region build food and happiness, another region build income and happiness and another...
Always get two levels in defense skill, it's seriously OP you get 2 barricades , 2 stones , 2 spikes and 2 flaming hay barrels which can easily take out 4-5 sets of units on there own especially on...
Yeah some higher tier buildings require certain resources. The region with the resources in also effects the settlements, such as barbarian (grain) gives 40% income from agricultural so you want to...
Focus on growth/economy/public order and construction technologies first to fully expand all settlements and get tier 3 buildings everywhere and solid garrisons. Purchase alliances , trade agreements...
In the diplomacy screen check the small yellow and red bar near the top of the tab. It shows your power compared to each faction. If the yellow is 50/50 ratio or better AI are unlikely to be...
I know why it get's boring, the factions are just too balanced. All of the single settlement factions field 3 stacks so they can never be killed off by bigger factions that also have 3 stacks.Once...
I like the capture point system because its realistic in a way, just not how it currently works. CA should make it into a passive objective and move it into a neutral yet strategic position on the...
No, Rome 2 has already given me 20+ hours of entertainment and once more patches come out and a few decent mods i'm sure that will rise too 1000+
I don't think theres any justification for wanting...
I keep experiencing this very annoying problem when attacking, in the most recent battle the AI has 2 stacks positioned directly west of its city and i use my 2 stacks to attack the opposite side on...
There is always a capture point whenever a besieged army sallies out to meet you in the field, I can't think of any reason why there would be a capture point in that situation though, defenders...
@OP that's nonsense.Diablo 3 vs Path of Exile is a perfect example. A company with hundreds of millions of dollars, 4+ years of development, huge fan base completely destroy one of there best game...
I've seen Carthage destroyed as early as turn 40.
That seems to be exactly what AI/Defend does. Test it in a custom battle.
Every unit ordered to AI/Defend an area will stay there, in formation and not pursue any units unless ordered to do so....
Someone correct me if i'm wrong but there's a Tab next to formations with an option to set a group of units to AI/Defend where you then have to select an area of ground to defend.
This does...
It's more likely to be 20-25 turns or even less depending on resources you both have to trade. Then you can have
270+ turns of profit
Military alliance
-1 faction declaring war on you
other...
Relations strengthen based on length of trade agreements, sometimes its worth just paying the 4000 if you see the faction as a potential ally in the future, plus you get your money back anyway.Think...
You can't be serious, almost every single PC title that ported to Console is now ported to PC instead with awful clunky controls and bad optimization.
If Rome II ports to console and is successful...
This, it also had Warcraft 2 on the playstation which required a lot of micro. If you check Rome 2 controls, you can pretty much move any unit/army using the up/down/left/right keys. You can also set...
This explains everything

OP if your going to play legendary/battle realism you can't complain about not seeing the enemy until they are in range or in line of sight, that's kinda the entire point.
Send out a unit to scout...
It has always worked like that, you have never been able to defend when attacking sieging armies. It only happens when the sieging army attacks.
How many people in this thread have actually played 50-100+ turns because in my campaign battles are increasingly getting better and better. The starting units and generals suck in there default...
Anyone else having this issue with any settlements?
Hey does anyone know what's up with this, I'm playing a legendary Sparta campaign and so far after 60 turns Sparta has still only had 1 expansion and is making only 180 Athens has 4 expansions and...
Sparta Legendary campaign here, 8 times out of 10 AI is pretty damn good. It's flanking me constantly and has caused units to rout in almost every battle.
My only complaint is the victory point...
I had average FPS of 60 with a mix of very high/extreme setting on the benchmark and the game is running smooth but.. for some reason every minute or so i get a small mini freeze usually when i start...
I'm playing the game and have an option to enable AA, it must have been added in day 1 patch?
