  1. Re: Ancient Warfare Historian talks about movies depicting Medieval warfare

So this is my friend Dr. Roel Konijnendijk and basically he's aware of most of the commentary here (and elsewhere) but the studio only gave so much time and also cuts what he says.

    So no, this...

It has come to my attention that Judex Rex has put their mod behind a paywall. Speaking as a former moderator of this forum, it is clear in the Total War Center Terms of Service that...

The mod is not dead, we're partnered with many other projects, sharing assets and development. It is being worked on, the issue is getting people to do things right.

Yes we will be doing new building models.

No we will likely not be partnering with "Beginning of the End." They seem to be very keen on ignoring any of my recommendations to fix the massive issues...

No, it's not COVID. Our team is delayed due to the fact our modellers were commissioned by museums for major projects. Those projects end in a couple months, and I know Stealth4Health is already...

I'm afraid not. We're still working on getting models made, and one of our modellers had a major computer issue so he's been out of commission for a fair bit. But the mod is still being worked on,...

Correct, the helmet from Deir El Medinah is most likely a derivative of the Leiden/Novae-type Spangenhelm, which dates from approximately 580 to the mid-700's AD (some of the examples found in the...
  18. Re: what improvements should be made in the next generation nuclear power plants?

Yes the US East coast from South Carolina northwards has MASSIVE potential for offshore wind.
  19. Re: what improvements should be made in the next generation nuclear power plants?

Yes that is correct but the nuclear reactor and the nuclear steam supply system (NSSS) are not the primary driver of cost, and the cost to build a 1650 MWe reactor (Taishan, EPR) is currently no more...
  20. Re: what improvements should be made in the next generation nuclear power plants?

I'm saying that high capital costs are a problem, not a benefit. Solar has incredibly low capital costs AND low O&M costs.

Then you better read it instead of making assumptions about nuclear...
  21. Re: what improvements should be made in the next generation nuclear power plants?

And those low O&M costs don't become a benefit until 20 years after reactor completion.

  22. Re: what improvements should be made in the next generation nuclear power plants?

In terms of what we can build right now, immediately, to address climate change? KEPCO/KHNP's APR-1400 is probably the most cost-effective design. It has 18% of the features of most Gen III+ reactors...

First of all, no they don't. Not easily, at least. All existing reactors will breed minute amounts of Pu-238, 239 (weapons grade), 240, 241, and 242. They are negligible in quantity and...

The IBI and IBII modders are not at present working on this project, this team is composed entirely of members of the ATW modding community, not the RTW/RTWBI or M2TW communities.

  37. Re: 2017 Nuclear accident ..somewhere in Euroasia

Yes it was a gaseous release of Ruthenium-106 from the Mayak reprocessing plant (formerly known as Kyshtym). There's a really good write up of exactly how this happened by Nicholas Thompson:...

You could get a lot better efficiency out of this using a Helium Brayton Cycle, but the Helium shortage is certainly a major issue right now.
