  1. Re: Why did Churchill lead Britain into war with Nazism and Fascism?

I think you have it the wrong way round. Irving featured in a lengthy court case where it was proved beyond doubt he falsified the historical record in order to advance his vile agenda. A simple...

Court proven liars are not the best of sources.
  3. Re: Why did Churchill lead Britain into war with Nazism and Fascism?

It needed Soviet approval. The key was to get Stalin to stay out of areas he agreed to and by and large that is what he did.
  4. Re: Why did Churchill lead Britain into war with Nazism and Fascism?

Churchill did not 'wrote' nor planned any division. He accepted reality. No one was in a position to remove the Soviets. I fully agree with his decision and I am sure I speak for the entire...
  5. Re: Why did Churchill lead Britain into war with Nazism and Fascism?

The Alliance with Stalin was a decisive factor in the defeat of Hitler.

    Beevor is just plain wrong.
Mongomery clearly wrote in his D-Day orders that Caen was not to be attacked frontally if the opposition was too strong.

Re: Which country really had the best tech in WWII?

British AT guns were among the best in WW2. The 2 pdr, 6 pdr and 17 pdr were every bit as deadly as any German design. It is a mistake to denigrate the 2 pdr (40mm) when it was a very capable...

If it was true (which it is not) how does that impact on the loss rate. If a Unit lost all its tanks 5 times over then it is a 500% loss rate.

Correct. It had nothing to do with any sceintific superiority and everything to do with the total defeat of every arm of the German military. Wunderwaffen X, Y and Z all failed to stave off defeat.

  33. Re: The Effectiveness of Allied Bombing during WWII and was it Justified?

It was a response to German raids on British civilians. The UK was not facing 'defeat' after the BOB either It seems your 'teachers' can't even get the basic facts right.
  34. Re: The Effectiveness of Allied Bombing during WWII and was it Justified?
