I still do not think we should have a clear explanation for every traits in the game (for simplicity and practical reasons), but maybe there could be an addendum in the features lists of the mods...
Have you checked your mailbox? If yes, ask for a refund  (just joking of course...)
Someone might have asked, but I remember there was some talk of having an optional sub-mod with the original inflated treasury (with hundreds of thousands of currency). I do not seem to find it, is...
Its next to impossible to have true use of skirmisher units:
- they were mostly used as wide screening while the armies prepared to move in (in Total War, there is no real "preparation" needed to...
Please developers, dont worry about the people crying about links and updates and yadda yadda, dont even stress yourself out to answer them, you have plenty of good natured players who will take them...
I agree with your points on complexity/opacity. Yet vanilla traits is very much under-exploited.
To my eyes, it is vastly superior to have a large number of possible traits and ancillaries, with...
The interesting flavor is the traits themselves. Trait generation doesnt require pop-up events or cinematics... it would be such a mess too.
Even if half of your characters end up with bad skills,...
Why the need for explained negative traits, and not for positive traits? To me it clearly shows a basis against negative traits because it makes the game harder, not a transparency issue (which...
Never seriously played anything else than main campaign, DeI addicted :whistling should give the macedonian wars a go one day though, seems very highly polished.
Never played Athens but since the last changes in the patches they seem to have been made fairly interesting for the players.
If you liberate a faction with which you have common cultural grounds and you are much stronger than them and somewhat stronger than those you are actually at war with, you have nothing to fear....
Lucani is scum.
It is normal and happened to almost everyone that tried to Liberate small factions as Epirus while at war with Rome and being the weak party. It could be part due to cultural aversion but I think its...
Completely forgot about that one, lets hope its napoleon-like "concentrated" campaign and not something more akin to kinds of skirmishes on scripted maps.
Yep, and with CA leap toward fantasy, there is a chance Attila will be the last historical TW for quite some years.
Some tv shows doesnt ignore armor but then the protagonists always manage to slit exposed throat/pierce weak points/slash leather parts like the people in The Walking Dead always manages to headshot...
The struggle is real :laughter: I think I didnt finish one yet...
When empire maintenance/corruption was overhauled to a fine point was when I really felt mid-late game joy, personally....
I also enjoyed how they realistically mixed slingers and swordmen within other units.
Same feeling.
Masochist forward!!! MARCH!
Germanic Berserkers
Sounds like a cool flavor unit.
This thread encourages me to find and try more potentially deadly units.
I too wish a creative director invented entertaining ways to produce battle scenes with 0 dodgy hits, alas the majority of the time they include realism, it is for important characters to avoid death.
+1 for peltasts, I've experimented with as few as 4 pikes and like 8 peltasts-like units and its a real wreck. If you dont micro, they can even make a frontline of sort.
In my experience its very hard to maintain a line of pikes + push toward a human opponent that is in a kiting mood or excel in throwing stuff.
Holes will appear and acute angles will form after...
If you're pincer attacking a unit which about-turns magically, at least there is always one of your unit attacking it from behind. When you're flanking/rearing un-engaged enemy units then this is...
Hoplites are more versatile than pikes, especially in head-to-head campaigns where a human opponent will easily kite you out of your mind if you have a main line of pikes.
When in doubt, its...
Joining you in the thanking, even though I cant playtest for a few weeks I can see the work done from here :thumbsup2
And if you really enjoy this mod, consider dropping by their patreon: these guys...
I'm not sure that hammer-anvil was the best military tactics of ancient times: parthian tactics would probably have been a nice counter, I consider them the underrated monsters of these times.
I'm...
Be thankful that DeI made the most out of the shallow political system! There is still some oddities and of course its not easy to roleplay with it, but its something.
I would very much have liked DeI to use a 1HP system  some mods use it and they are very good if done right!
Unfortunately as above^ pointed it would mean a complete overhaul of DeI, because...
Didnt see the mention... Cant test for a few weeks but I trust KAM to have done some nice nerf.
Yes they can shoot in an arc, which is even more aggravating. If they had, say, the same stats but they could only shoot straight, like the slingers, you couldnt use them as a reliable 2nd rank...
Snowball effect of having 20 wars ongoing: people declare war on you for near no reasons.
Positive relationship is a deterent more than an inability to hostile actions against your self, and the...
There's been quite a lot of work done on naval combat already and it is far far better than vanilla now, but I can understand why it seems "abandonned" when you compare land and naval battles in...
And here I sit on a campagn where Carthage has 5 stacks around its capital making it impossible to beach and harass me from everywhere.
Like Geala said, basically if you are becoming a world power or you know you are gonna become on, you should pick "- empire maintenance" on every characters/buildings you can because you cant really...
Now all the Odrysians need is nukes :surprise:
I feel quite good about enslaving my fellow comtemporary, like all true men dare I say.
Technically I'm of the people so just give it to me.
You never know whats in the works though :surprise: but really I tried once a couple weeks back and had huge desync issues (mp) so waiting just in case.
