The table you are looking for is "building_level_armed_citizenry_junctions_tables". You may want to check with PFM the mods that have already tweaked the same things, it is very useful to understand...
Move to STEAM?...
NAAAH...!
Jokes apart, I actually love to download all mods I like and run ModManager to start my game sessions, so if you could keep also the current release system I'd be...
Sorry, do you mean friendly fire within the men of a single unit or is it due to units overlapping each other?
I had same problems with units changing their position while firing at the enemies; think I solved by reducing firing arcs of infantry from 360 to 90 in battle entities file.
Hope it helps, cheers!
Hi KAM, I tried your first 1.1 version in few battles in my HATG campaign and I feel quite comfortable with it. I'm really having a good time with my battles now (got back to DeI after a very long...
Thanks a lot for that, hope it will work; still have to check it properly, yet the instant reinforcements thing would be the real game changer to me, as in my personal mods I have to deal with...
Hi, you really made a neat job so far. CAC is definitely my favourite mod ever.
I have an idea regarding Roman military reforms that I'd like to share, as I really appreciated the introduction...
Hi , this is not a bug: socii principes are not part of the vanilla roster, they were introduced (together with socii triarii) by CAC Team, so there is not a "socii principes" or "socii triarii" call...
Great news Dresden! I'm going to try this new version asap!
I've been waiting the last couple of months for such a development after trying the first release.
Actually what intrigued me most...
Looks quite nice, looking forward to give it a spin; just a couple of comments. For the barbarian shield wall it looks like you took a picture of roman soldiers (at least their shields have roman...
Ah ah!... Great! Another Roman! I was born in Rome too (many years ago unfortunately...); I'm still living here and my Football Team is AS Roma.
I share all your points, about football supporters,...
Hi, if I understood correctly, you are actually working on AI, is it? Are you tweaking both CAI and BAI by chance? If you'll be able to improve such things I'm sure your mod will become definitely...
I concur, melee units should be the bulk of all armies from the start, introducing spearmen, swordsmen, axemen and basic cavalry from turn 1.
Archers, slingers (with longer range than bows) and...
Thank you Sir!
Hi, some comments on some things I believe could be improved.
AI is generally not aggressive enough in my opinion, and usually my enemies start asking for peace too easily when at war.
I'd like...
Thanks a lot for your kind answer, looking forward to the next update!
I have another question about military reforms, as I don't have much experience on that.
Is it possible to upgrade existing...
Hi, I'm starting playing SPQR with CAC and it really looks like a very promising mod; I think it will be my favourite for a long time. I especially like the historical setting, the general feeling...
Hi Dresden, first of all, thanks a lot for your clever mods, I use many of them indeed; I've just a comment for any users interested in season modding, as I'm used to play the Grand Campaign with 12...
Hi, still haven't had the opportunity to try this mod yet I'm wondering if this same system can be applied to remove the fortify stance also (it is very annoying to me to attack an army simply...
Hi just to confirm that with 40 units per stack I regularly get ctds during AI turns that cannot be cured by reloading the savegame. Using 36 in the last couple of months, and I'm definitely free of...
Well done! You're doing really great things Dresden!
Now just some more economic resources and military aggressiveness to Sasanian Empire and I'll be ready to enjoy an amazing campaign with...
Thanks Dresden, this can really become another jewel of yours.
It is good that some of the other parties want to trade, yet reducing the peaceful environment can be beneficial... I guess fine...
So far is very interesting, and works quite well, no major gltches... yet no way to be attacked by any of the neighbours that, they say, should hate me...
Tried to restart campaign using Dubmod...
Ok, just came back home and downloaded...
I'll have to abandon my Roman campaign with all the files I modded to make them live together (AGA, Dubmod, Radious...), but I'm really excited about your...
I don't like such scenario at all... there is nothing about Sparta here isn't it?
No naked Spartans ravaging all over the place?... Blaah...!!!!
Sorry, just joking... Great idea... looking...
Ok, I thought 25 was for all units, not only defeated armies' ones.
Selea, you may want to consider tweaking the minimum unit size for losing parties; the entry is present in campaign variables file, I don't have it in front of me but this entry's name starts with...
Think you are overstretching a bit the argument about the weaknesses of the Roman military organization (for sure they had weak spots!...) and the weight of Roman propaganda (for sure important...)....
Hi Flipper, I agree with you in almost all the things you said, except, of course, the question heavy/light infantry regarding hastati.
By the way did you had the chance to read my post # 319?...
Hi Flipper, the point is not fighting skills; on average, the legionary of the pre-Marian Republican Age was a militian with very good training and excellent fighting skills... the reason behind the...
Ok Lester, thank you.
Here you some sources I had at hand...
Osprey - WARRIOR n. 162 - 2012 Osprey Publishing Ltd.
ROMAN REPUBLICAN LEGIONARY 298-105 BC
Author: Nick Fields
....
Hi sorry for my late answer Lester, you just said it... the manipular system.
This system could not work without good and well trained infantry, at any level; if the first line simply collapsed...
Actually you are correct, the answer is no... Rome 2 formations don't represent the usual deployment of ancient armies, at least not always.
Triplex acies worked in reality when the enemy adopted...
Sorry, how can you soften a strong enemy in a few time using raw recruits? If they weren't good soldiers they were massacred in few minutes and this didn't happen usually.
About triarii don'follow...
I think I can provide such sources, just give me some time...
Anyway while I perfectly agree with you that their armour was not the same level of richer soldiers (so I'd reduce their cuirass armor...
Hi Lester, just two cents about hastati... they were not put in first line because they were poor and untrained... they were well trained even though less experienced than principes and triarii....
Yes, you are right; to date I didn't touch arrows and bows, as I realized myself it can be a tricky business, yet I'm trying to do the same as you did to javelins... by the way I always used to set...
Hi, I concur with Selea about projectile stats, yet I think that giving a small ap bonus to composte bow vs all others may be considered, as Parthian arrows were reported to be able to pierce easily...
That's something I must try asap!!...
Indeed I'd be curious to see if just giving Corsica to Carthage and leaving Central-Italy regions to Etruscans could actually heal their armies from sailing...
