You can use artillery in this version.
And you could use it in the last version, too. So God knows what you're asking here!

I've heard good things about Burrek's blood mod. It should work fine with PDeR seeing as PDeR doesn't deal with blood textures, right?
I've been having holy land woes with my Sicily campaign as...
Oh yeah, the HRE are a powerhouse in my Sicily campaign. They have lands stretching from the Low Countries to Hungary and Poland, taking in most of Northern Italy too. It's mad - they're far and away...
Alright then, let's see if I can remember some of the suggestions I had...
Early Norman Knights need balancing - they're just too good right now, a good deal better than later Norman Knights. Make...
I take it the forum was rolled back, hence the loss of the 0.4 feedback thread?
For all of the knightly orders, you have to wait for their historical date of foundation to be able to train any of their units. For the Templars, that's sometime in the 1120s, IIRC.
Yawn, Lobo. Yawn.
I'd rather have the Americas in the game than not. They make a nice extra, just another option to take.
I found Turkey very easy to get going in the start, amassing a large amount of territory quickly (helped by an alliance with Egypt and strategically blocking off river crossings so the Egyptians...
Scotland has no sergeants or men-at-arms at all, so it has no free-upkeep castle units. I don't think it really needs them, as such, but I do think that Scotland's own equivalent units (culturally),...
This is very good indeed.
Those look fantastic.
And I really like the look of the pavise shield, personally. It's a nice wooden finish.
I remembered one of my suggestions.
Scotland lacks any sergeant type units at all, so it's very hard for Scotland to benefit from free-upkeep units in castles. I don't think it would be too much...
Been playing this over the weekend and I'm very impressed by it. The slowed-down strategic map and the area of recruitment system works fantastically. Been playing as Scotland and having a whale of a...
Viking Invasion's music is unbeaten, I reckon.
Medieval 2 comes a close second.
A big, usually slow-moving target and a predominance of missile weapons? Work it out.
Good grief, calm down. Look it up on Wikipedia like the man says, it'll explain it better than we could.
That's pretty hilarious, Rupertel. Haven't seen anything like that in the game yet.
Defensive trebuchets work fairly well pre-gunpowder. After gunpowder, mortars are invaluable for any castle defender - a single hit from a mortar will take out any piece of siege equipment, and can...
Yeah, you've got to use Billmen as your 'flanking' troops. Use levy spearmen or spear militia for the battle line - they can hold for long enough to let you get the heavies in around the side.
There may be no civil wars, but disloyal generals can still rebel and take armies/cities with them.
I've managed to fix this problem - and it was by night_owl's method of closing background processes. In this case, it was Steam and Skype that I shut down and this let me run the videos fine.
1. If you say so, although it really shouldn't make a difference at all.
2. There are updates?
3. I'll try.
4. Already updated.
5. Athlon 64 3500, 1024mb RAM, ATI Radeon X1900 GT.
I can post a...
I didn't install DirectX 9 because I already have the most up-to-date version. As for WMP, I have WMP10, but seeing as the videos are .bik format, not .wma, that shouldn't have any sort of bearing.
...
And how would I go about doing that? On someone else's recommendation, I downloaded the RAD Game Tools, which... had no effect. It still does it.
I had to get a replacement copy in the end, which worked perfectly - the second disc was faulty for me.
My system runs the campaign map and battles perfectly on highest settings, but whenever one of those .bik movies shows up (whether it's the event movies, the intro, or the main menu's moving...
I just got a 'cyclic redundancy error' at some point during installation from the second disc of the game. Will try without the DX9 installation and see if it works.
EDIT: It didn't work. It was...
My Play.com copy didn't come. :(
I'm seriously considering going into town to buy it from Game or something, as I'd planned to do before my stroke of madness on Tuesday when I ordered from Play,...
He wasn't contradicting that - he was just saying that Priests can't convert heretics. Heretics always die if they lose the 'battle of wits', so to speak.
I'm in the same boat as Blade - really hoping it comes tomorrow, otherwise I won't get a chance to play it until Sunday night at the earliest, as I'm heading to Glasgow for the weekend.
From the very beginning of Medieval 2's development, the catchphrase was 'evolution not revolution'. So expecting as big a leap from Rome to Medieval 2 was... naive, to say the least. CA work on two...
Could be related to the bug that's to be fixed in the release day patch - the AI not doing anything unless you make a move.
There's a fair bit of oversimplification in there, but I'll just mention one thing - I found that RTR was a well-made yet soulless and unexciting mod. The amount of effort that went into it was...
Everyone remembers what a nightmare city battles were on Huge settings in R:TW - phalanxes especially.
Never seen unit movements that messed up before. It was a deciding factor in making me play...
Aye - I'm pretty confident that we might get it tomorrow. I've often got games the day after ordering them from various online retailers.
Like Nathanial, I got word today from Play.com at around 9.30am that it had been posted.
Anticipation. Through the roof. Aargh.
We'll survive. It's a hard life, but somehow, we'll hold on until our orders come through!
It's not just the Medieval 2 orders - other orders that are being dispatched are blanking - but still keeping a ghost presence. It's happened to others who ordered entirely different things.
So no...
No, mine's blank too. (although still sort of recognising that there's an order there - I have another order too, and it's showing as '1-2 of 2 orders'. Was really very worried until I read this...
There's also a file in the Data directory which indicates that the Norman Conquest will form a prologue campaign, which the battle tutorial is a part of.
