When I am done with M2TW I tend to play LTW... you know life total war? Complete with a bajillion factions, dynamic missions (and consequnces), active(ish) AI, balanced battles, and no restarts. Good...

1) A different time period. Though I am up for R2TW
2) The ability for children (not come of age yet) to be heirs... just ave regency coucils rule!

Play how you think your characters would play... for better and worse... Also avoid exploits and consciously hamper your own growth. It works for me :D
