    Really? Did you play Shogun 2? Looks better, runs better. Has anti-aliasing. (BUT it was equally awful as Rome 2 on release, until over 6 months later.)

    I agree with you, it's far more satisfying (and comprehensible) to have a reasonable number of units that are moderately different.

    Yeah but the beauty of the game is, you can just raise the gamma or brightness setting ingame to get the look you desire. To get the Vennonetes look but slightly brighter.
