Re: ISIL War in Iraq and Syria II

No idea, and yes, about (and I'm going off memory here) 20% of Kurds have had their citizenship revoked. That is a different issue to being denied a state, it is of course a terrible thing. And they...

Re: ISIL War in Iraq and Syria II

Because Israel kicked them out of their land (or they fled, depending on your interpretation of history) and won't let them back in as Israeli citizens. It's apples and oranges. The other countries...

Re: ISIL War in Iraq and Syria II

That very much depends on how you define 'morally superior'.
  4. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

To answer your post, I read it, it provides a lot of nonsense of which none (at least, very little) of it is sourced. I don't feel the need to debunk most of the claims made because, frankly, I'm too...
  5. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

    This is utter nonsense.
  6. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

    B. W. that is the laziest copy and paste job I've ever seen, the site you got that second chunk from is, frankly, laughable, and is not an acceptable source.

    (the source he pasted from:...
  7. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

Nevertheless, it is a commonly accepted definition. Under which, Israel is a colony.

The UNRWA was created before the UNHCR, it's almost as if the UN, upon realizing what it had caused (see...
  8. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

Colony doesn't necessarily mean that it was controlled by another country.

    The definition I am using:
  9. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

Israel can very easily be called, upon it's creation at least, a colony.
  10. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

It does seem unlikely to be the prevailing opinion, yes.
  11. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

Indeed, and was a British problem (and of course let not forget the Zionist terrorist groups stirring things up as well). However, we passed the problem to the UN. They passed a resolution, and a day...
  12. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

Of course, this is both common sense and common knowledge. The UN resolution however was not just a small spark, it kick started a huge bushfire. To ignore it's effects is silly, the 29th of November...
  13. Re: The Putin - Trump Controversy: Here to Stay-Links between Trump and Russia are being officially investigated by the FBI

Doesn't this poll with national numbers?

    http://news.gallup.com/poll/15370/party-affiliation.aspx

Is it possible that people are 'embarrassed' to admit being republican? We see the same thing...
  14. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

I'm talking about a resolution that can be argued to have directly caused a civil war in Palestine that eventually led to a regional conflict, ending in the ethnic cleansing of Israel/Palestine of...
  15. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

As I said, the UN resolution game them the legitimacy required to set up a state, and the the UN does indeed have a moral obligation to be more biased towards Israel. You are mistaken if you believe...
  16. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

Absolutely, we can. I was merely commenting on acid attacks specifically because I happen to know about the statistics regarding that particular issue and I've seen it thrown around by some who...
  17. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

    Precisely my point.

Oh I don't really care what the US does, sure I'm against it, but live and let live. We can call you idiots when you do something we disagree with, you can call us idiots...
  18. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

Probably because they are directly responsible for Israel. Not the other countries.

Personally I just enjoy the fact Israeli's refuse to accept third party mediation when it was that which Israel...
  19. Re: Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is what it means and why this is a bad move

Of which 32% of perpetrators are white Europeans. Only 6% or so are Asians.

The myth peddled by some that acid attacks are the sole result of Muslim's is ludicrous, in fact it tends to be as a...
  20. Re: Sinclair Broadcasting brings 'troubling' rightwing bias to local news

Means nothing without a comparative on a democrat leader, such as Obama. Also, Trump is not a traditional republican, and has a notoriously confrontational style with the media. It is not really a...
  21. Re: UK: PM Theresa May calls snap General Election

I kinda think the Conservatives will do better than the exit poll suggests, but it makes me glad they kinda got hit hard it seems in England. It was the height of arrogance to call a general election...
  22. Re: UK: PM Theresa May calls snap General Election

    Well that was unexpected.

    Re: Iran's 2017 elections

No, he's de jure (according to you). De facto the president of Iran has made plenty of decisions that the so called 'dictator' you rail on about has publicly condemned.

    Re: Iran's 2017 elections

Whether or not in terms of law it is or it isn't is neither here nor there and wasn't the point I made. My point is that de facto, it is not a dictatorship. People saying it's a dictatorship usually...

    Re: Iran's 2017 elections

If this were true in actuality, you wouldn't have such a high turnout as well as massive protests when elections are seen to be tampered with.

Is Iran a fully functioning democracy? No, but it is...
  26. Re: Israel to drop Arabic as official language; self-determination only applies to the Jewish people - according to proposal of nation-state bill

Gonna need a source for this.

But honestly, I don't really care how it's seen, the wording matters above everything when it comes to law, I don't care about the intent or the 'actual meaning',...
  27. Re: Israel to drop Arabic as official language; self-determination only applies to the Jewish people - according to proposal of nation-state bill

I thought it was written in law to be honest, but that's not what this is doing. Self determination is the process in which a country forms it's own government, or democracy, essentially. Now...
  28. Re: Israel to drop Arabic as official language; self-determination only applies to the Jewish people - according to proposal of nation-state bill

The issue isn't whether this makes the state Jewish or not. It's always been a Jewish state. Saying the right to self-determination is unique to Jewish people is a completely different thing. That's...
  29. Re: Israel to drop Arabic as official language; self-determination only applies to the Jewish people - according to proposal of nation-state bill

They are. In the case of Kashmir for example, don't know other areas as well, so couldn't comment. Definitely under occupation. Countries can't just unilaterally decide things and expect everyone to...
  30. Re: Alt-right neo-nazis to speak at Texas A&M University

I guess I don't see walking up to people on the street and punching them as a way to save a country. If he's running around behind the scenes it is because someone is letting him to do so. Stand up...
  31. Re: Alt-right neo-nazis to speak at Texas A&M University

I'm not American, I'm British. If you disagree with someone, you destroy them in debate. If they break the law, you prosecute them. If what he did broke the law, then that needs addressing in court....
  32. Re: Alt-right neo-nazis to speak at Texas A&M University

That's the American system, freedom of expression. Practically ANY (no, not literally any) language can raidcalise people, you know what kind of language can do that? Saying it's okay to hit people...
  33. Re: Alt-right neo-nazis to speak at Texas A&M University

That is why we have this thing, it's called the justice system. We do not take the law into our own hands. If he is breaking the law, you prosecute him, you do not resort to vigilantism. Or you will...
  34. Re: Alt-right neo-nazis to speak at Texas A&M University

No, it is an opinion. An opinion which in mine is completely and utterly false, but it is still an opinion. And we do not punch people for opinions.
  35. Re: Alt-right neo-nazis to speak at Texas A&M University

I don't admire violence, I enjoy it. Punching someone who deserves it is undoubtedly satisfying and fun (that doesn't mean you should). I also respect military ability, and I enjoy role playing in...
  36. Re: Alt-right neo-nazis to speak at Texas A&M University

    So you admire violence?
  37. Re: Alt-right neo-nazis to speak at Texas A&M University

Well I mean, that's easy. Just cause someone is punchable, doesn't mean you should punch them, what happens when they turn that logic around on you?
  38. Re: Alt-right neo-nazis to speak at Texas A&M University

Punching people who disagree with you is wrong. I mean, doesn't get simpler than that really. No ifs, no buts.

Re: ISIL War in Iraq and Syria II

They wouldn't need to, as I understand it safe zones wouldn't be the entirety of Syria, only small enclaves, it also wouldn't stop Russia simply sending more planes.
