  1. Re: Which faction trait do you find most useful?

ERE's interest trait basically tops all the others.

Wait a few turns and economy literally isn't an issue anymore.

The Celtic factions with their "Deploy anywhere" trait are quite powerful...
  2. Re: Attila, the game the community asked for

Yeah, but then the one women who did sneak in to fight actually killed the Witch King, so probably not the best example you could have used. Lord of the Rings is full of incredibly powerful, martial...
  3. Re: Attila, the game the community asked for

Yeah, I don't think you are taking nearly enough variables into account. Attila was never going to be as popular as Rome II, simply because of the setting. The game mechanics, in most ways, are...
  4. Re: Jeff van Dyck won't be composing for warhammer

Im definitely biased towards Jeff, because I prefer most of what he has written over most of what Beddow has written, but really there's not a lot of other criteria to judge two pieces of music by....
  5. Re: What table you can unlock trade through third parties (through friends fraction trade)?

So far as I know the trading system is hardcoded into the game, and cannot be changed on a fundamental level.
  6. Re: Things that CA must correct ASAP in the next patch.

Also, kind of a small thing, but I am reasonably certain that ballistae archer ships actually shoot their own artillery crew in the back.
  7. Re: Please, for Sigmar's sake, let us trade provinces.

Oh no, it was especially jarring in Shogun 2, from both a gameplay perspective and a historical one.

Many clans that would come to prominence during the Edo period, for instance, only had such...

    Re: Population

That applies to Rome I as well. Hiring mercenaries does not use population from nearby settlements.

It's impossible to play the game without noticing the system. Population was a huge part of the...
  9. Please, for Sigmar's sake, let us trade provinces.

This is such an incredibly important part of diplomacy, I do not understand why they took it out. The ability to cede territory for peace, or diplomatically annex a region, or give away provinces to...

    Re: Population

Actually, ETW does have a manpower system, I believe.

I remember making a unit with 1000 men in it, and recruiting too many of them in a settlement actually drained the population.

    I assume...

Faction Selection screen music of FotS. Really fantastic piece, thematic and just perfect for the scenario, flowing back and forth between traditional Japanese instruments, and newer...

    Re: Occupation Options

Hmm, weirdly it seems to work consistently now, but then other times it most certainly did not. I might be a mod, or it might be vanilla, but either way I am certain it must be a bug.

    Re: Thoughts on Siege?

My thoughts are mostly just, "Please don't  it up."
  14. Re: Future lord of the rings mod for warhammer

Well, actually, basically every faction in Lord of the Rings was a feudal kingdom. Gondor and it's fiefdoms, Rohan, all the Elflords, Dwarves, the Haradrim, arguably the Easterlings as well.

  15. Re: Favorite map position/area to settle?

Iberia makes a good fortress. Plenty of food thanks to fertile provinces, including North Africa.

    Egypt would also be fun.

Crimea looks fun, but has very low fertility, so I imagine food...

    Re: [Request] submod Double Garrison

I would get this too, would work great with 40 unit stacks.
  17. Re: Jeff van Dyck won't be composing for warhammer

I never really thought Beddow was that good on the strategic layer either. I've played Rome II for over 600 hours and can't think of a single track from the campaign, but I can still think back on...
  18. Re: Future lord of the rings mod for warhammer

Middle Earth is a very coherent and mature fantasy universe primarily because Tolkien spent so much effort on world building. Frankly, as far as adventure novels go, I don't think the actual story...
  19. Re: Why the BLACK ANT synbdrome - why does even a small zoom make all units black

I took a few screenshots in a battle yesterday.

No fog, looks like early morning with the sun well up. Took them from a lot of different angles.

  20. Re: Jeff van Dyck won't be composing for warhammer

I liked Napoleon's main menu music, I believe, but honestly can't remember a single track beyond that. Especially not on the campaign map, where I recall it was all incredibly bland.

    Empire's I...
  21. Re: Jeff van Dyck won't be composing for warhammer

I am not surprised, and thus not disappointed. Attila has been Beddow's best work so far, in Total War at least, so hopefully he can keep up with good work. Perhaps with a little more free reign for...

What exactly are the criteria for all of them?

I have Dresden's mod to unlock all diplomatic and occupation options, but I do not think that affects how they work beyond giving them to all...

Re: Full game or split game?

I don't know if the critics understand how big Warhammer is.

Complaining that only this one specific map will be in at first is like complaining that a Total War game only portrays Europe.

  24. Re: Total War: WARHAMMER - Battle of Black Fire Pass Walkthrough released!

    Formational tactics? In vanilla Rome?

If by "Formational tactics" you mean "Three units of Berserkers killing 3000 men" then sure.

I once had a battle literally end seconds after it started....
  25. Re: We've all become addicted: Blood and Gore DLC at launch

Well, I know why they are doing it from a business perspective, but it doesn't even really make sense when you think of it like that either. There are tons of Mature rated games that are wildly more...
  26. Re: Why the BLACK ANT synbdrome - why does even a small zoom make all units black

When I stand a hundred feet away from people on an overcast day, they don't look like black specks. There is a difference between becoming sprites, and becoming black specks. The older games all had...
  27. Re: Why the BLACK ANT synbdrome - why does even a small zoom make all units black

I honestly couldn't explain why, but there is always something about the newest Warscape games, Rome 2 and Attila, that feels very surreal and almost makes it hard for me to pay attention in battles....
  28. Re: Total War: WARHAMMER - Battle of Black Fire Pass Walkthrough released!

I can understand your point. I would have felt underwhelmed if I were expecting more, but frankly, I find it a bit of a relief it wasn't some flashy, ridiculous, fake preview.

    Better they show us...
  29. Re: Why the BLACK ANT synbdrome - why does even a small zoom make all units black

Shogun 2, if I recall correctly, had nice, colorful lines even when zoomed out as well. Empire and Napoleon both definitely did.

I really don't know what happened.
  30. Re: We've all become addicted: Blood and Gore DLC at launch

Yeah, with the other games I guess it mildly made sense, but Warhammer is a bloody, gore-filled universe of death and destruction. Seems kind of odd to shoot for a Teen rating.
  31. Re: Total War: WARHAMMER - Battle of Black Fire Pass Walkthrough released!

    Bland and soulless.

    Soulless.

You can tell this from a ten minute, narrated pre-alpha, scripted battle preview?
  32. Re: Total War: WARHAMMER - Battle of Black Fire Pass Walkthrough released!

    By Sigmar that was magnificent.

I don't even know what to be most excited about. The agents actually showing up in battle, as heroes? I have wanted that since Rome 1.

It's very much a work in...
  33. Re: Total War: Warhammer - The Luminark of Hysh

Sounds about right to me. The Luminark should probably be more rare than giants, and it's not like you can have a Luminark in ever army (probably.)
  34. Re: [Submod] Diplomatic and Occupation Options

Talking to Mr. Wolves up there. I think he may be under the impression that you can gift regions, but you can only do that to a horde passing through your territory.
  35. Re: [Submod] Diplomatic and Occupation Options

What's this about gifting regions now? Do you mean gifting regions to hordes that pass through your territory, or is there a new mechanic added by the newest DLC?
  36. Re: [Submod] Diplomatic and Occupation Options

This is updated, isn't it? I cannot, for the life of me, get it to work.

Nevermind, Im an idiot. I was manually editing the user.script.txt and forgot to put "mod...

Re: Full game or split game?

I would pay for a family tree in Rome II. I would not be happy about it, but I would buy it on sale or something, as long as it included all of Attila's improved features as well.

CA insists that you pay for DLC, IF YOU WANT TO OWN THE DLC.
