    no, rivets were well known to Romans. their mail was half solid rings and half riveted rings.

    Modern Mail in that book is referred to mail made from "modern" steel, not an authentic steel....

    That's the way CA made it.. it is hardcoded, and we cannot remove rebel starting experience.. it is one of things we just have to live with it, as we cannot change it.

    It is supposed to have +2 recruitment, therefore if current build doesn't have it, it is a bug and it is already taken care of in our test build, which means next version will have this fixed.

    main problem with all ranged unit is in CA approach being way too gamey.. Slingers and archers had other function, not just causing casualties... actually, casualty wise, both archers and slingers...
