So, who is still actually up for this? We postponed last week due to people still being busy with exams, and postponed again this week due to almost nobody actually turning up.
I'm not planning to go slavery, but I still don't see why we should ban it. Paradox are looking to fix it. If everyone is aware of what slavery can do, I don't see how anyone is disadvantaged by it....
I'm pretty sure you can only get one crisis per game, so feel free to research sentient AI and jump drives at this point since they should be risk free.
Just got the Scourge as well. Conveniently, I have an outpost near their invasion point to fight them and have ~90k, so beating them is pretty easy (year is 2410). Annoying thing though is the event...
I've only picked wormholes so far. They seemed the most interesting. Only thing was early game I didn't realise I can build wormhole stations outside my own space so I did almost no early game...
Georgia. They revolted.
Also, you have an endless supply of gullible saps willing to take lots of money in exchange for getting slaughtered.
I came in to post that "hell yes I'd rather do this in the EU4 slot" only to find my name was already down.
Well played Cryers... well played.
Sorry I missed the session. Stuff came up which meant I didn't have access to my PC. Tried to post on TWC using my mobile but apparantly my phone decided that every time I entered a letter it would...
Well, that war was fun - things I did:
- Utterly routed the Swiss who were not prepared for me fighting them, forcing them into a White Peace almost immediately.
- Had some skirmishes with the...
Didn't really help that Spain, France, Burgundy and Denmark all kinda dropped from the colonial point of view.
Don't care anyway, the land war in Europe is pretty fun.
Damnit, he knows my plan...
Well... that was fun... and by fun I mean lots of people died... and are still dying.
That was half my point exactly, that Paradox eventually mess the game up. As mentioned, optimal EU4 for me was basically Art of War / El Dorado. I won't be buying Mare Nostrum, whilst I've bought...
Paradox's DLC have been more akin to "mini-expansions" with some cosmetics on the side (unit packs, music packs, etc...). I've generally ignored the latter, which I don't care about in any game. I...
Austria did stuff, including fun Paradox bugs.
The funniest thing that happened was I got the mission to PU Hungary, did so, then realised that I was in the Protestant League and Hungary was in...
Can't disagree more. Plus one more thing. If they determine "winning" that much to you, why don't you just ignore what I say and treat them as "winning" anyway? If me saying "points are stupid" is...
I don't see the point in victory card or the score system because (a) they don't represent who really wins, and (b) I simply know who wins anyway. People should be in a manner of trying to play the...
Sorry guys. I've had a bad cold this weekend and feel pretty tired right now, so I'm not able to play tonight.
Took Venice itself and a few other things. Currently PU-ing a rather pathetic shadow of Bohemia, before likely eating more of Hungary. Game is going pretty badly by single player standards, but I...
That's exactly why I hate monarchies and prefer republics....
But don't pretend its democracy! Every time I play a republic I rig every so called "election".
I had some really unfortunate luck where my heir was a female, and before I had enough IA to pass the Pragmatic Sanction (you need 25), my King died meaning I'm no longer Emperor (though my heir...
You say that, last game I was Florence and went to war with literally everyone around me at some point during the game (wars of aggression I might add).
But yeah if you have as many people as you...
I'll play the same whether we're playing for points or not. Points and victory cards are stupid. I don't need points to tell me who is winning, I'll simply know that from whomever has the capability...
I'm about Sundays generally anyway, so when/if this happens, just send me a PM on Steam.
As with the games before, I'm only interested in Europe only games unless we have more than enough people to fill Europe. It's just boring otherwise as players have far too much room to blob without...
I can probably play, just message me on Steam or something.
Indeed, it's just not the same without a bunch of regulars with whom to laugh at how stupid the fort system is designed is and how Paradox somehow made it worse.
I'm still up for it, but thread seems dead. Would be a shame, our series of games has gone on for years. Single player is boringly easy and tedious by comparison.
I'm still in. Not a clue who I'll play though. I'm up for custom nations but as I recall, we're relatively thin on players and some people really don't like it. Custom new world might be interesting...
Shame we never had a full on World War in this game, but nevermind. At least I'm content with ending with the most income, development and largest army, especially given that I started as one of the...
I didn't really do much other than fight the AI. That said, I think I ended up fighting AI France about three times. Once because I got bored and attacked a newly independent Columbia that had broken...
Also Ynen, your colony is the Dutch one in Nova Scotia. I'm not quite sure how Apple got it, but I'm fairly certain it was from a simple AI war.
Its troops also beat mine fairly comfortably. Granted I was too bored to sit in my line of mountains like I would in a conventional war and attacked, and had worse generals, but it still stands that...
Without modifiers, 50 points at 75 points per 2 inflation is going to cost him 1875 points. Innovative ideas reduce that by a paltry 10%. He's kinda crossed the point of no return by now. I'm not...
Story of the important war in the session:
- Commonwealth DoWs Ottomans.
- Ottomans hangs back and retreats into Anatolia.
- Ottomans bribe (and I mean an actual, real bribe) Russia and Germany...
I miss being able to have armies of that scale.
I did general expansion and became an Empire. Otherwise, nothing much. I also had the event bug for the entire session (rehosting spammed me with...
I think it's the other way around. Clocks went back one hour, so the start time is effectively an hour later for anyone who hasn't shifted.
Apple subbed you. Save link: http://www.filedropper.com/twcmp9session3
Florence had a fanastic session. All in all. Growth has been tremendous.
- Development: 378 to 728
- Army: 38 regiments...
Florence didn't have the best session, but it didn't have anything that bad. Namely:
- Conquered Cremona from Milan.
- Conquered most of the Papal States.
- Conquered half of Naples.
-...
