Sticky: Re: Europa Barbarorum II FAQ

So I was reading the Saka faction description and I noticed that the Saka seem to have migrated from the west. If so, where did they migrate from in particular and who sent them on their merry way to...
  2. Re: What's the most satisfying thing for you in EBII?

Taking an enemy settlement, killing their upper level nobility (the general...), and slowly integrating them into my empire. Sure they might not become good Romans, or Macedonians, or Boii, but in...
  3. Re: Which unit do you anticipate the most? Which units should be added thread

I've been playing Third Age recently and I am disappointed in that game about the relative lack of AOR units. I just like the feeling of conquering a territory and recruiting some of the local troops...

I'll scan the Seleucid tree and see what I can find out. I suspect some of these guys are married to daughters of Seleucid family members so I'll try to "confirm" that they are historical marriages....

So with households is there any plan to script in a reduction in population a la Rome and DBM? I'm not necessarily in favor of such a thing, just wondering if it's going to happen.
  12. Re: [The interminable debate] Overhand v underhand spear usage

Nightsh4de, I believe you're thinking of the Boetian shield with the cutouts that Lindybeige mentions above. I was browsing this issue on Historum and someone posted that video. It was countered that...

There was probably a certain degree of pushing in any melee with close-packed men, but the "pushing match" of Hoplite warfare is still highly contentious.

Re: Q about more quest-filled mods

It's not quest heavy, but Europa Barbarorum has what is essentially a quest chain if you play as Bactria. Some of their reforms are rightfully considered a form of quest.
  15. Re: Fans suggestion thread for future releases

I've held poles about as long and as heavy as a hoplite spear. You can certainly use it overhand just as effectively as you can underhand, and with more force (better tricep utilization actually, and...

    Re: Turning Camp into Settlement

There's not much in camps worth grabbing as the Romans. Camp conversion is more useful for those powers that are in regions dominated by camps.

Hopefully this campaign has a bit more dramatic tension than the Sarmatians. I'm not very good at horse-archers, but people who are tend to be very effective with them.
