Re: Warhammer will be next but what then?

    Oh and @PikeStance

Mr Ambrose is a by-word for shoddy oral history these days.

Re: Warhammer will be next but what then?

I would be appalled if the US Civil War were the next TW game. Such a tedious period compared to the amazing things happening elsewhere. The US Civil War would be a footnote in history if it weren't...

Re: Why Don't Cannons Have Grapeshot?

Not a fan of the lack of unit abilities in general.

Pike wall/ schiltrom is another glaring weakness. I struggle to see any point for spearmen except as early game cannonfodder. :(

    Re: Future Legendary characters

Don't forget Luthor Huss for the Empire!

And isn't there a Joan of Arc lookalike somewhere in the Bretonnian army list?

Re: Is TW series becoming stale?

Glad to see I'm not the only one feeling this way.
Every single TW since Napoleon has just felt uninteresting and stale. Nothing new has come out and no major changes have been attempted. All the...
  8. Has Rome II improved enough to be worth getting back into again?

Ever since I preordered Rome II and saw the results I've regretted my preorder and eventually I uninstalled it in disgust around patch 7-8.

So my question is, since its release, has it improved...

    Re: Empire multiplayer beta

Me and a mate finally managed to both get the MP beta campaign but now we're finding that on the second turn of a campaign you get the spinning clock of death after I've been informed that I've built...

Re: Influences on WW I & II on LOTR

I wonder where the Soviets/Russians come in? Probably Gondor... they've been fighting Morder/ Germans for so long in the book...

I really have difficulty comparing the two... but then I'm not an...
  11. Poll: Re: This is the final poll, do you like or not like Rome2 ?.

    It's... just... not... good... enough...
I've gotten more enjoyment (or value for money) out of every single other Total war game I've played, Med through Shogun II.
  12. Poll: Re: Demographics - young or old, Male or Female

I must say, the idea that the game has been marketed to teenagers and that it has been successful with them seems rather false. My friends (17 and 16 year olds) talked me into buying Rome II...

Re: Can CA recover from Rome 2 ?

I remember when I was younger and just got Rome Total War for a Birthday, played the hell out of it for months, was too young to really appreciate the Campaign side but I'd just have massive battles...

    Re: Turdetani and Arse

Looking at my Classical Atlas, it makes no mention of "Arse" as a city. The closest is Arsenaria in North Africa West of Carthage. That said though the atlas is from the 60s...
