Is the battlemap for RS still available for Rome I Vanilla? I remember a post about it on here somewhere, but can't find it anymore :(.
Honestly reading and seeing fellow U.S. Citizens that believe lies that come from the mouths of careerist 'politicians' is comical. Go ahead kids and TW folks, believe in your chosen Augustus -...
Awesome article.
Touches on a lot of points for why I consider even Rome Total War vanilla, with its sillyness included, to be a ton of fun simply by way of the mechanics present in that game. ...
I do believe I am very qualified to gauge this game as I see fit as a consumer. The whole idea that people can't speak about a product negatively if they have not yet 'consumed' it is very funny to...
Who knows, but it'll be funny if the Sieges are the same or taken out entirely for the next game. Too much work to make it like 10 years ago man.
People have 'no problem' with that, but don't demand for something more organic or realistic. It was awesome to build siege equipment, like ladders, and have them appear as actual physical objects...
Total Step Backwards. If people, in the majority, like dumbed down features in this then that 'could' (not saying definitively it will) influence CA's design for future games - which is a worrisome...
Seems to me that KAM 2150 said 6/10 first, not 8/10. If a Total War game cannot hold up Vanilla, first and foremost, then it is quite clearly a nosedive. I play Total War games first vanilla, then...
Thanks for the post.
Well, sounds exactly like the Total War I'll buy in 2 years on sale for a complete edition at 5 bucks and no more. That should be just in time for the next further...
And yet there are reviews noting the dumbed down mechanics. I'd say those ones are quite relevant from people that don't have their Hype Pants™ attached and can see past the BS.
I guessed right...
I wonder if people will defend TW:W's streamlined Not-Epic Sieges and totally justify it. Streamlining and further dumbing down is the future.
The answer to the OP's question is Yes. TW series has entered a slow decline. Incline is a thing of the past. Simplification is the Future.
"Hopefully" is one hope too many for me. My Barrel of Hope is running near dry now for TW games. So what's that up to now, Fourth Time's the charm for 'hoping' the next after Warhammer brings back...
Ah so my predictions for Sieges came true after all for this game.
And Rome 1 vanilla 1.6 Siege AI still remains the best in the series able to attack from all sides and retreats if failing to...
Be prepared for this possibility then: $7.99 Bear Cav DLC
Rome 1 had some of the best sieges I've ever had the pleasure of playing in a TW game. I've played it recently as I am one to do every so often for my favorite TW game ever, so those that continue...
The Siege AI excuse is B.S.
Siege AI worked at its best in Rome 1, 12 years ago - that was somehow better. If they can't handle making the Siege AI as it was 12 years ago in this engine, then I...
How can someone not know what XCOM is, its based on the original classic:

Also there is the more recent Xenonauts, a more direct...
Haven't been following this game much. Did they simply limit how many stacks you can have in one Army? And Did they finally revert it back so you can create an Army without a 'leader' unit (i.e....
Regarding this example specifically, going from Fallout 1 to Fallout 4 you can see the dumbing down of the franchise there too.
My post above quoting Osbot though is mainly agreeing with the...
Osbot speaks truth. I mean I still play even older games from the 90s like Fallout, Torment, X-Wing, or System Shock. If any of you know what System Shock 1 out of those examples is like (can be...
My own opinion hasn't reversed at all. Rome 2 is still the dog pile entry of the series. Mechanically worse as a whole with superb ideas from the old games thrown away, with only improvements in...
Nah. Just play the older games; its what I do for my TW fix.
Good thing BI and Rome 1 were mechanically better. Rome 2, Atilla? Creamed; its not even close.
I actually did play those games back then Vanilla - all the ahistorical stuff didn't bother me, it...
- A new 64-bit engine would help, ditch 32-bit man.
- And also it would great if they remove the new over reliance on RPG mechanics and clicking through every little menu to assign some traits. A...
It was on sale eh, huh didn't even notice. Guess that's how much I pay attention to new TW these days (very little). I'm basically checked out of the series at this point, just playing the old...
I would probably consider torrenting a paid mod if it happened. Its what Blackbeard would've done.
Not ridiculous at all; more like justified. The series has gone down hill anyways. I have not bought Atilla and haven't gone back to Rome 2, instead I just play the old games and leave it at that.
Unfortunately mods can't bring back serious features, but only really pretty up the game or stat changes.
Perhaps the OP may be referring to these missing things, I'm not sure, but they are...
It definitely was in Shogun/MTW, I remember clearly hacking down walls specifically in Viking Invasion since you rarely had siege units at all going up and down the English coast raiding cities. ...
I like how a game CA made 11 years ago is better, mechanically, when it came to sieges compared to a modern game made in 2015. Boggles the mind I tells ya.
If you really, really must have the...
That shocking interview with CA... oh god, I couldn't stop laughing.
You seem very upset for some reason. In many TW games "3 months" to a "Year" passes by. Its a turn and can be given any time frame. What you do not apparently understand is that Historicity and...
This reply was in no way helpful or useful. I'm curious why you even replied like that.
I'm not sure why you are exaggerating either: I.E. There was no "mini-game" in previous TW games, as you...
Just as the title says. For those with more knowledge of what is or isn't moddable in R2 or Atilla, can this feature be removed and replaced with how it was in Shogun and previous games?
I.E....
When people ask stuff like "Has the General teleporting issue" been fixed/removed, its a serious question, not a troll comment. And Humble and the other person are not the only ones trying to get...
And yet no one has yet mentioned if your Family Generals no longer teleport to an Army as they do in Rome 2. Do you have to physically move them to armies AND can an army be led by a Captain instead?
Well mainly because R2 did introduce some nice things. And I liked very few things about R2. One of those being line of sight against the AI in the battle, stronger diplomatic alliances, etc. Its...
Can anyone please confirm if the following is possible in your impressions:
Can you build armies with just Captains so they dont' have to be led by a General. Secondly, is the teleporting General...
