I know about that, sadly it's an engine issue with hardcoded limits.
If the polycount in a grid of vegetation exceeds a certain limit then the engine won't render that grid, simply said trees will...

Yes, we know about it and we are in collaboration(sharing content) with them after some misunderstandings in the past.
However the problem here is we have no one that could port their settlements.
No, that one is a common CTD with every mod, from what I know there's no fix for it.
That's a very good idea! It's about time we release a new patch with those fixes/improvements and a bit more that wasn't released.

We mainly use 3ds max due to the modding tools available.
Sure, you have to use the descr_geography_new.db and the battlefield(don't forget about the new_vegetation) folder, do a quick test if it works.

Exactly, it's just not the style we're aiming, we're going towards a bit more realism rather than stylish.
The vanilla grass isn't that but it is stylish and designed for the engine.
