    The Aragorn thing probably isn't a bug. What happened is that you lost soldiers in his unit and, when those were replenished, the game lowered the overall experience to account for the new soldiers.

    Nope. Aragorn is the leader of the Northern Dunedain, and, at least for the foreseeable future, there is no Reunited Kingdom script in DaC.

    That's not it. The AI gets an elite army early on so that they won't be wiped out so easily. Isengard's initial situation is very delicate.

    I just won a short Mercia campaign on Legendary. The begining was fairly challenging but the rest was ok.

    1 - some cities simply don't upgrade beyond a certain point (Amon Sul comes to mind). Other possibility is that those towns may have already been upgraded to the equivalent of your highest tier core...

    In my experience, even minor stat bumps (1 or 2 extra defense for the militia units) can make that happen. Gondor is pretty strong already, it's just that the AI often makes big mistakes and Mordor...

    I myself never adopt or recruit any generals. I make do with the starting family and hope they are up for breeding (old man Balin has let me down a couple of times, in fact...)

    Elrond for defense, Glorfindel for offense. Put Elrond on a chokepoint and he can take out entire armies by himself.

    Hmm, yes, that sort of crash is what happens when there is something wrong in the EDB file. Are you using Notepad++? The standard notepad can cause problems. Also, check your syntax again.
