  1. Sticky: Re: Build a PC for Attila TW / Hardware Recommendations (Currently Updating)

Sure. I've got an Intel i7 960. Should still be good for a while, if I understand. Not sure on the motherboard. Gigabyte something or rather.

And this is the RAM I am planning on purchasing.

  2. Sticky: Re: Build a PC for Attila TW / Hardware Recommendations (Currently Updating)

So right at the moment I have three gigs of RAM and an MSI GTX 650 Ti boost (I believe, anyway. The box doesn't say Ti Boost, it says 2GB, but I can't find any other MSI card in this range that has...

    Re: Red-ish Portraits

I had everything in an entire battle turn red like that once. I don't know why. Restarting the game fixed the problem, and I haven't seen in since.

  5. Re: New game announced - Total War: WARHAMMER

Nothing has changed?! Go back and play Empire. Then play Attila, or Shogun 2.

Attila's combat is the closest to M2TW we've had since the advancement to this engine. Apart from pathfinding issues,...

Re: Hoplite vs Phalangite - physically

This is an interesting discussion, and initially I thought the Phalangites would win for sure, but after reading some of the arguments presented here, I am not as certain.

    Personally, I think it...
  7. Re: New game announced - Total War: WARHAMMER

    Maybe, I never played it.

It sounds like each stand-alone game will take place on it's own map, with it's own factions and units and such, then simply combine somehow if you own two or more....

  9. Re: New game announced - Total War: WARHAMMER

Okay, look, Im finally going to have to call someone out on this.

What do you think the engine does, and why do you think it has these inherent problems? Have you played Attila yet?

I think Attila has nearly nailed it. Mass feels much better in this one.

Re: Fort Defence in the Field.

I had an amazing fort battle once. 8000 men on my side, and about 24,000 on the enemy's. I was ERE and they were Sassanid.

I ended up losing about half my force, but they lost almost the entirety...

This is possibly the most succinctly I've seen the point expressed so far.

Oddly, I don't see many threads about basic battlefield tactics. So I made one.

  14. Re: New game announced - Total War: WARHAMMER

My big disappointment with King Arthus was simply the battles. They were bad. I may have liked them if I hadn't played Total War.

The campaign map was underwhelming as well.

    Actually, I guess...

So far, I think the best post on this subject was on Reddit.

  19. Re: New game announced - Total War: WARHAMMER

It's not cut content. First of all, you can't have cut content for a game that's not even out, and doesn't even have a release date yet.

They announced that this is a trilogy of stand-alone games...

I wonder if Mitch will be helping the team build a better mod manager to ship with their games? That would be great!

  31. Sticky: Re: DramaBelli's FABRICA - ROMAN EMPIRES UNITS - Custom Textures for Radious Total War Units and AUM

Oh, it is scale. Just at a glance I thought it was chain, because the only scale armor I've seen in Vanilla is that giant scale on the Lanciarii Seniores.

They would work better as "Deployables" during an ambush or something, similar to giant flaming balls.

You're not struggling to hold onto eight stacks. You're... Magically limited to eight stacks, for some reason. Regardless of the capacity of your empire to field more.

This is far less immersive. ...
