    Mind you, that will also make them unable to damage wooden fortifications or other siege engines.

    Long term bonus and tariffs are two different things AFAIK. Tariffs are more like generic trade income you earn no matter what you export.

    That reminds me of my High Elf campaigns. You start with 50 000 gold, it runs out in a year or so and you only get out of the red shortly before Archaon shows up. So I'd say it's fairly normal.
