Recently I found out about the RTW shortcut command line switch -ai, which makes the ai take over your faction when you play a campaign. As I watched, I thought I'd try seeing if I could click on...
For anyone wondering how to unpack, just
Copy the xpak files (except the readme and samplePak -- doesn't really matter though) into ...\Rome - Total War\data\packs.
Open the xpak batch file. ...
What works exactly? I'm trying to accomplish the same thing as OP; do I need to make duplicate factions for every faction (isn't there a faction limit?), or is there something I can edit to allow...
I noticed the "highlight faction troops" button on the battle map is gone (unless I horribly messed up installation). I figure it's probably for realism, but is there a simple way I can add it back?
I really like the diplomacy in Darthmod. It felt very easy to get a ceasefire from an enemy that was losing pretty hard. I started playing Custom Campaign Mod 2, and Venice has one little castle...
That link is down now. =(
EDIT: Nevermind--found the new one: https://www.mediafire.com/?69w052269m0bg
From what I've read, I didn't see any battle AI already integrated with CCM, so I'm just wondering if XAI will work (I think it should), or if there's a battle ai mod tailor made for ccm2.
Oh. This is a bit harder than RTW.
Alright builder680, I see your reasoning. I hadn't thought of how the ai handles cavalry. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I think my list was too long.
- I think if Mathrafal Horseman could be recruited until Teulu Skirmishers, that'd make for a better roster.
- If skirmishers come after longbowmen (idk how it...
BLASPHEMY!!!
Same here. I thought all EB units were very well balanced. Though I've never tried a frontal assault on a phalanx; they get wrecked from the back just as easily as any other unit.
With my own...
That song is one of the most epic songs out there.
For future reference, KGCM is nothing compared to SS. Don't waste your time.
I played Wales for about 50 turns. The recruitment setup, similarly in original KGCM, really isn't my style.
FOR WALES (What I don't get)
- Skirmishers come after Longbows? Shouldn't it be...
Idk what's happening. I'm installing the patches, but Wales, Novgorod, etc. aren't in the game. I'm sure I pathed everything correctly. Gotta tell ya, I've installed and removed this mod off and on...
Really annoying though that I had to move my M2TW folder and all my mods back to Program Files to get it to install. Now I'll have to move it all back.
Links work for me Builder, and thanks. I've seen your submod and I'm about to try it out when I get this downloaded. I've always enjoyed mods that stick close to the Vanilla world. Glad to see you're...
Swordsmen, Spearmen, Archers, Cavalry, siege weapons.
Simplified to the bare basics, that's basically all the units in this mod. All factions share the same, or near the same units. Think of...
The rules for borrowing EB materials officially state that "You must be at least lvl 25 before being considered." (Section 8, Article 3)
These are good points for the battle map, and I've tried most of them. But I still find I prefer a regular missile unit instead.
Does anybody use artillery in non-siege intended stacks, despite...
I've never been able to really utilize anti-infantry artillery (e.g. scorpion) in an effective way, both on the campaign and battle map. On the campaign map, I never like having them in a stack, due...
I think Men of War is a great game. But, I couldn't get myself to play more than a few hours. I really only liked it 'cause you could take control of any unit. But I would've really enjoyed it if I...
I see a few M&B mentions here. M&B is definitely one of my favorites. I remember when I got RTW, always desperately wishing I could play as one of the soldiers in a grand battle.
Finding it many...
Death animations in M2TW are the reason I went back to RomeTW and found EB. How's that for a love story?
I started playing SWB2 with my best friend on his PS2. We went mad with that game, and would rage quit if we didn't get at least 100 kills per life. My friend and I grew apart (killed him too often...
TES: Oblvion, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and Rome Total War (EB).
Those are the three games I've played since the dawn of time itself. Most of the time I cycle between them, and maybe play a...
I would have loved to had shield wall, but I played EBI with Alexander. I know you can have shield wall in m2tw; I've seen it in Third age, and I've added the formation to the edu myself. That's all...
The master has arrived. :worship::worship::worship::Ian:
I've always wished for that. Especially for sieges and whatnot. It would be a revolutionary feat. There's a submod for Third Age that lets you choose what unit you want a general to be. And I think...
That's weird. Are you sure you're putting it into your EB/data directory and not Vanilla?
I suppose you, the team (I think there's a team now), might be tired of the bombardment of eager questions, but I have another.
Might it be possible to name units like in ETW? Or even characters?...
Chrome says the file is malicious? =o

I think this preview answers my 2nd question.
Same here. I kind of appreciate a standardized roster among similar faction, with a few unique units to give each faction some identity. Sometimes, I find I really like certain units in a faction,...
Nice.
Another question, if you will. Will there be any similarities to Stainless Steel recruitment, in which there are categories -- rural levies, early professional, late professional -- that...
I have to imagine there's a thread somewhere about this. Point me in that direction if so.
Will EB2 make use of culture like in M2TW Kingdoms: Britannia for recruitment? Or will recruitment be...
Upkeep for a building? I didn't know that could be done. That's interesting.
Will I find similar factions have many shared generic units, with a few unique units here and there, such as in vanilla m2tw?
