Vanilla rome 1 is definitely not better than Vanilla Rome 2. I've not had any crashes playing Rome 2, and i've been playing since release. Though I have noticed the AI doing some stupid things.

I have to agree the AI needs some work with siege battles, sometimes they spend 10 years or more just blockading a city by sea without attacking even though the defenders could easily be beaten. Also...
