Sticky: Re: Discussion and Debate Community Thread

So seems like a dumb thing that we shouldn't care about. Typical 2022 online culture, lol.

Can someone explain to me who Andrew Tate is and why people care? I refuse to do any research on what I assume is just a passing internet celebrity.

  5. Re: Muslim military inferiority during the Middle Ages

I have to agree with this. There's simply too much of a wide gap in chronology and geography to draw a conclusion that the "West" or Muslims were militarily superior.

How can the Republic of Cyprus share any wealth its Turkish-Cypriot citizens when they are outside of its control living under occupation? Does that mean Turkey plans to give a share of its pirated...
  7. Re: Pence warns Turkey over its purchase of the S400

So, an army is there to face a future threat, but not a present one? That's what you're saying.
  8. Re: Pence warns Turkey over its purchase of the S400

Armed forces aren't built around immediate threats? Does that even make sense to you, or do you need a second to revise your post?
  9. Re: Pence warns Turkey over its purchase of the S400

Not surprised the context of the question is lost on you, but alhoon and others are asking where would an aircraft carrier be useful for Turkey and where could it be used effectively? It wouldn't be...
  10. Re: Pence warns Turkey over its purchase of the S400

    No, that's just paranoia.

Also, Pappas Post is hardly a reliable source outside of anything happening in the Greek diaspora and galaktompoureko.

  12. Re: Pence warns Turkey over its purchase of the S400

I also assume US didn't make too much of a fuss when we got the S-300 because it was the only way to diffuse Turkey's overreacting to Cyprus purchasing them in the first place.

I was at some music venue to see a lame alt-rock band with friends and happened across this Greek Air Force museum with a Mirage outside, so naturally I took a picture.
  14. Re: Pence warns Turkey over its purchase of the S400

Indeed, Washington has recognized that we're in the era of great power competition and the F-35 will be on the frontline against near peer and peer competitors, and Turkey cozying up with Russia and...
  15. Re: Pence warns Turkey over its purchase of the S400

If you honestly think that the problem the US has in selling F-35's to Turkey is just technical, then there's really no point in trying to further this discussion.
  16. Re: Pence warns Turkey over its purchase of the S400

There's been talk of the US trying again to sell the F-35 to Greece, and from what I hear there is much less negativity with purchasing it than there was last time the idea was seriously floated.

Re: How are you enjoying the slow death of TWC?

The Total War series isn't declining, it's just moved away from needing forums to support modding for its newer games, which is why you can still download and play mods for an 11 year old game.

Re: How are you enjoying the slow death of TWC?

It's been shite for quite some time, part of that is probably the diminishing popularity of forums, the others are more to do with the people who visit and run this forum.

We got an agreement that we'll talk about it once the elections are done in Germany in 2018...I'm sure they'll find a new way to kick the can more down the road then.
