Thanks for the explanation
Hopefully a full historical title. I liked Troy but I think going historic is better for this one.
I mean, the game is called ROME II, so the Romans of course. I find the interactions of all those ancient civilizations interesting, so I'm actually interested in everything. But mostly Rome still :)
Good question. I don't think they were used by Vikings at least, but it would be nice if they tried to do some research. We'll have to see what CA thinks, I guess.
Really great review! I just finished my first campaign in the last Roman and I agree with most of what you said!
This is a great news! I'm definitely getting both at release (although I already have Medieval, but it's too hard to male it work :p ).
The game is coming to steam very soon. Hopefully, it will work with windows 8 natively.
It looks like it will be a great mod! Thanks for doing it!
Done! Agreed, I was also somewhat confused by that question.
RIP torches. I'm glad you are out of my game.
You need to be at war to be able to fight against each other (at least, that's how it worked in Rome II, I haven't had the time to play one in Attila yet).
What he said. It took me 45 turns although I did take my time. It's quite a funny prologue if I can say so. Well, then you can move on to the real meat of the game!
I quite like how the game is shaping but I hate torches. They need to remove them. It's just so anticlimatic :(
You can add my support for such a feature. Obviously, some changes would have to be made in order for it to work.
Agreed.
Yes, those are very possible reasons.
It just says that there is no full audio for Spanish and neither is there for Italian (according to steam) for both Rome II and Attila. But I think I misunderstood what you meant: Spanish and Italian...
Strange, Rome II's steam page does not indicate that but I wouldn't be surprised that it's a mistake (don't want to change my game settings to Spanish to check it, so I trust you^^). Anyway, that's...
Unfortunately, it's probably for economic reasons. France and Germany are the biggest economies in the EU and the sales of total war in those countries (maybe not just the sales but at least the...
Thanks for the answer. That's a surprising result. I just wanted to see it for myself and launched both games to see the numbers of battles going on and I found out that 7 were available for Shogun 2...
I know that it has very little to do with the point you were trying to make, but I genuinely wonder how you can say that. As far as I know, you can only compare figures for the whole games, not their...
Voted! Many nice pictures :)
Agreed. AI is one of the most important aspects of single player campaign. It's what adds replayability to the game (if done correctly).
The problem with the avatar campaign is how prominent it was. There was no automatch for classic battle for instance, and the default multiplayer setting was avatar, which left no place for classic...
Shogun 2's avatar system was terrible. It was totally unfair to new players, and personnally, this kind of multiplayer does not correspond to my vision of a strategy game. It gave some players better...
I just answered to the survey. I hope it wasn't too late :-)
Or you could play a h2h MPC :) The problem would only be the opposite. You would always be at war with your friend instead of being his ally. Don't know if it's better for you...
I won my last campaign as Rome in 112 turns (playing very hard). Now, I am going to try playing as Syracuse in HatG (legendary) and I expect to win in less than 100 turns, but we'll see...
Being able to choose your capital woud be nice indeed.
That's why I suggested to add other victory conditions. Those would be options that you could choose at the beginning of an MPC, just...
In my opinion, the most interesting feature of Total War: Rome 2 is its head to head multiplayer campaign. The problem with this mode however is that the victory condition is always the same: take...
Don't forget that Carthage gets a hefty decrease on mercenary upkeep costs.
The OP makes a great suggestion. I personnaly would love to see the Gastraphretes being implemented in the game (event though it's a little bit out of the time scope of the game). This and some kind...
I hope it will be as good as CIG, which really enhanced the main game. I hope that just like in CIG, the Romans will be restricted to the troops that were available to them at the time, so I will be...
Please CA, remove the torches :)
Well, FOTS's naval battles are the best of the series in my opinion. They were totally awesome. Also, I think that it is important that CA keep naval battles as part of their core features. It's just...
I think that what the OP meant is factional mercenaries and not basic mercenaries that everyone can recruit.
Have you ever tried that? Because I have and it hasn't ever worked for me. I have never been able to recruit new factional mercenaries, once I had disbanded them. For some factional mercenaries,...
