People need to compare Warhammer, not with M2TW and Rome, but with the original Medieval Total War. That was a fantastic game, brimming full of features and content.
Yes, it didn't have naval...
I Cannot beat them. I must have defeated coming up to seven stacks now. It seems i cannot kill their leader as he gets wounded every time.
In one aspect i miss the big cities but it was a sensible move, especially with the quality of the AI. They have never been able to get the AI to properly defend a castle/city in previous games.

I have to say, i have never played anything Warhammer and dismissed this game as trash the day it was announced.
I was wrong. The game is very fun to play, almost similar to Shogun 2 is some ways....
The times of MTW, RTW and M2TW have passed. These type of CA games are never coming back.
CA has shifted to a DLC orientated model with a concentrated effort towards how good the game "looks" and...
Don't forget the added 5p for the plastic bag....That's £50.04 please.
Played a Frankish campagin. Very much enjoyed it though the endgame is pretty much the same as every other total war. You become far too strong, everyone hates you and you end up having to curb stomp...
I find that every single nation gets pushed into France, Spain, Italy and North Africa. This means everything ends up getting torched and no one having any money to do anything...

Ad 450. Absolute carnage. ERE and WRE both dead. Hordes everywhere and half the map still...
The good:
-Campaigns feels much more like Shogun 2. Politics is much more fleshed out and its a good challenge trying to balance dominion/influence.
-Battle AI isn't as stupid. Generally tries to...
Every single faction has crumbled in my game. I have Picts and Jutes in North Africa, Vandals in France, Huns everywhere and the Romans divded into about 6 different client small states.
Just fought a 55 minute siege. Was truly epic. Absolute slaughter. I really was skeptical of this game and im normally very critical of CA, but im having quite alot of fun so far.
Im very surprised. The battles feel much more like Shogun 2 as opposed to Rome which i think is fantastic. The campaign politics and events are very well done. The only problems i have are the nuke...
Yes. If you read the comments, alot of people have gone through a bad experience with this site. I however have purchased about 10 games, all using paypal and never had any problems with them.

£18. Not bad at all.
Im not a modder by any stretch of the imagination. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the following would be possible with the tools CA intend to release.
Im sick of routing an enemy army...
Yes but don't you think we should expect some form of improvement from over 15 years of refinement?
Just seen that clip for the first time. It is so clear they are ashamed of their own game. They can't even bring themselves to use the word torches. Instead they pan the camera round and totally...
Its hilarious how CA's answer to sieges is effectively the same as the original MTW where you just melee attacked the gate.
The sieges have always been more about eye candy than actually working...
“The value of this form of communications must be recognised, and every possible means adopted during stationary warfare to accustom commanders of formations to its use as a normal and reliable means...
Downloaded through torrent. Took about 5 mins. I have unlimited usage so i will seed the thing like mad. Thank you.
After all the patches, bugs, AI glitches and fixes, i finally finished my second campaign game 11 months later. I now realise, that although there have been numerous fixes, the endgame is still...
Still happening to me.
In my Macedon campaign (patch 14 beta), it seems like the Barbarian AI leaves settlements pretty often. However, the eastern factions such as Pontus and the Selucids seem to defend pretty well.
I know its bad for your health, but im thinking of giving this game another try. I know it is a trainwreck and has left me bitterly disappointed but you can't help in feeling there is a good game in...
- Scrap these scripted combat animations. I don't care if they look fancy, they don't work. I feel Medieval 2 had the balance between contact and non contact strikes about right with this. Scripted...
Gameplay > Graphics
Just look at the original Medieval Total War. By today's standards, it looks like pretty basic, but the combat, the campaign, the history, the replayability are second to none....
Pointless comparison. You are trying to compare games 8 years apart.
The question should be: Is Rome 2 eight years worth of improvement better than the original.
The clear answer is no.
Great mod.
One thing that does bother me though is when units are routing. I was assaulting a fort and had trapped 6k enemies inside. I surround them but they all routed and i managed to kill...
Stupidly enough, the mosh pit battles of Rome2 might actually help recreate the carnage of Cannae in a more historic light.
Good set of views on blame for the FWW.

Thank you very much. :)
The question should be...
Is Rome2 vanilla NINE years worth of development better than Rome1 vanilla. The simple answer is no.
Great pics. Would you be able to share your settings or are they a close secret :D
He did explain. He pointed out some pretty basic history errors within the first post, which would lead most to question the integrity of the post. 'Dumb as hell' pretty much sums it up.
4:You...
How is he derailing the thread. He is merely stating how OP is wrong.
Total War did use to be all about the battles. Look at the first instalment of Medieval Total War. Although, i absolutely loved the campaign map, just look at the sheer amount of focus on 'historical...
Absolutely.
Rome1 is still a pretty popular game considering its age. It also offers a much better multiplayer experience compared to Rome2.
Load up Rome1 during the last year and look at the...
Fantastic video. I agree with everything you stated.
This game is such a regression compared to previous instalments.
The comparison of the music and videos is such damning proof.
