Patch 2 is no longer available.
Those things are not remotely comparable. I get what you're trying to say, but you're looking at this through a modern lens. Thousands of years of best-fit societal norms were at work here, they were...
If that's true it's a huge problem for me. I wonder if I were to switch Rome's default government type to Empire mid-playthrough it would show up in the save.
For a human player -3 is Legendary, -2 is Very Hard, -1 is Hard, 0 is Normal, and 1 is Easy. Do you have an optional_campaign_key column? That should be filled with jap_boshin if you're editing FotS....
I'm still seeing some oddities with movement speed.
Tired Kleruchoi Agema Pikes in Phalanx: 1.25 (elite_pike man_entity) *0.8 (threshold_tired) *0.9 (form_pike_phalanx) = 0.9
Fresh Hastati: 1.25...
Neither one should be as effective as they are at the ranges depicted, but it's difficult to make them worthwhile otherwise.
At 30-50m the teppo/hinawaju was unlikely to hit but could still be...
The mod mostly works, I see the settlement, building, map changes etc in-game. However, I have two problems.
1. There is very limited sound in battles. Marching sounds work, but beyond that not...
Now they will kill you faster from the front than you can kill them from the back. You've got to cycle charge while keeping any time engaging the actual pikes to a minimum. Or save a few skirmishers...
It's the one KAM made at least. But in any case I can disable that one and it doesn't make a difference.
My only other mod is the no-sync animations. Are the steam and non-steam versions not the same?
Slower Battles submod is not working for me with 1.2.2e, ctd on startup.
Pretty sure you can save a script within a pack file, you just have to copy and paste rather than edit directly.
Anyone having issues with PFM after Windows 10 update on 12/12? I can load pack files but opening any table results in a crash. Was working fine just yesterday.
EDIT: Uninstalling kb4054517 has...
If you're playing a faction with its javelin count reduced things might be slower. But if you're playing a faction with either pikes or hoplites things are so much faster now.
I will say that I use them considerably more if I'm playing the 41 army size mod
1.2.2e -
Units with passive formation bonuses retain them even if you disable the formation. Doesn't this recreate the issue of the unit performing better with formation attack disabled? Since...
Tests are exactly what prompted my estimates. But fine, burden of proof and all that. However I'd sooner use my time tweaking my own DeI game than providing detailed lists that I really doubt will...
The pace of hoplite and phalanx combat is so much slower than other combat. Is this intended behavior? Unavoidable? If I had to put an estimate on how long engagements take, it would look like this:...
I'm impressed that armor values and model appearance have been synced up far more than before. Stamina level inconsistencies have been cleaned up.
Movement speed has been my only nitpick so far....
I have to disagree with Ygraine here. In my experience if you try to get fancy or use realistic tactics you're just giving the AI opportunities to board you. At first I would try to ram perpendicular...
The one province change I don't really like is Hercynia/Magna Germania. The new Hercynia now more accurately reflects Caesar's description of the forest, but the distance between the settlements is...
So this is a common debate, but should a professional force (Silver Shields vs Bronze Shields) really cost more upkeep? If the idea is to encourage realistic behavior, then they should have less...
The "problem" I have with combat speed is the huge variance between armored and unarmored units and the influence of ranged weapons, specifically javelins. Two late-game armored pure melee units will...
In _divide_et_impera_release_12_Part1, db > campaign_variables_tables > DeI_campaign_variables > religion_drift (should be line 45)
Linear? Not really. "New" cultures spread far more rapidly, but you have diminishing returns as you become more and more dominant. Completing removing foreign elements is almost impossible if they...
Lowering cultural drift from .05 to .01 works for me. Penalties are the same, but conversion takes several generations. And you have to pay more attention to foreign local traditions because the...
Is there a trigger for character skill rank?
It's not very accurate but I love seeing all the stages of Rome's military development in a single campaign.
I don't really know how the 'base' empire maintenance is calculated, but it could be that there's a larger penalty for holding entire provinces. Were you completing/retaking one?
Is the minimum setting for Shadows, Particles etc to be gpu-processed 'Very High' or 'Ultra'? I remember it being "the highest two" but that may have been before Extreme was added.
Is that Seleucid full stack near Sardis supposed to just sit there? This is my third start as Pergamon now and while not completely immobile, it doesn't go on the aggressive against the Ptolemies nor...
Only in DeI would I be excited about the prospect of my elite noble cav switching from lances to javelins. Must...preserve...1st class pop...
Great work as always!
You have no civil war chance because your party influence is balanced. You need at least 50%+ to start seeing the chances go up.
Awesome, thanks for your hard work!
Yeah it's Pergamon or bust for me, (im)patiently awaiting 2.2i!
I think of the "culturally dominant refund" mechanic more as a bonus to slowly expanding through a province rather than something that will preserve your population that was conquered. In your...
Your graphics card is fine. You don't need to start over necessarily, there's still the i7-4790K that is compatible with your socket type. It's about 10-15% slower than a 7700K but then you wouldn't...
If you have an average CPU but a good GPU like that, be sure the following options are the highest two settings: Shadows, Particle Effects, Building Detail, and Unit Detail.
This will make those...
I think Greek Strategos is talking about skill ranks, which can be advanced by governing a settlement. But political ranks definitely require battles won.
It's based on battles won and character age. To use Rome as an example:
Quaestor - at least 5 battles won and at least 30 years old
Aedile - at least 10 battles won and at least 34 years old...
