Now here's a city RTW has never seen before:

You may have an RTW version that Steam released before. I certainly cannot get the current one to work correctly. I've gotten the campaign to start, but RTW Steam doesn't like the fact that there are...

It should not...in fact Microsoft has 'claimed' that Windows 10 is more user friendly and compatible. But we'll see. I have no doubt that RTW will still work. It may take a few tweaks or tricks.

I don't even know what IWTE is...which shows how much I know about MTW2. LOL I imagine the reason so little has been changed in it (as far as settlements go), is simply the difficulty of doing it,...

From what I recall, that would generate an error. You can try it, but make sure you back up the original file. The 'core_building' tree in EDB.txt is one tree that is very finicky about being messed...

  13. Re: Is it possible to change a city's strat map model?

Funny this question should be asked, because I have been thinking about ways to add even MORE realism into things that I'm trying to do now. Not that I'm claiming everything is going to be real or...

Absolutely. I have been thinking about them a lot lately. Some Barb settlements are done...or at least mostly, the Hilltop ones anyway. But I've got more ideas for them anyway.

Are you talking about the 'blue tinge' that creeps way up the beach, because I did use most of your stuff except a texture maybe. I'll give it another look, cause I would like to get rid of that....

  21. Re: Does Roma Surrectum have better looking terrain and vegetation textures than Medieval 2?

I agree that M2 is the best of the TW engines, but it suffers from the 'blurs' in my opinion. Colors and objects aren't sharp and crisp. Part of that is just how the settings are in certain files...

I'm quite irritated by this whole issue...and with Steam and CA. Why they had to mess with RTW this way is beyond my ability to explain, unless they wanted to kill off the competition. :whistling ...
  23. Re: Does Roma Surrectum have better looking terrain and vegetation textures than Medieval 2?

It is more difficult to add them to MTW2 than it is to RTW. It 'can' be done, it's just a lot harder. I imagine most people have felt that the terrain and stuff in MTW2 are pretty good anyway....not...

Thanks for posting these, I had lost them as well. I will include them in the Important_Stuff folder in the next version of RS.
  26. Re: Does Roma Surrectum have better looking terrain and vegetation textures than Medieval 2?

I honestly don't know how to answer that. The trees, I'm sure, are superior...but it is more difficult to deal with vegetation in MTW2, so not people have tackled it.
    The way MTW2 generates the...

    Re: massalia 1 turn?

You could conceivably play Massalia 0-turn, but our testers reported that you will get summarily crushed by the Romans that way. So we made it 1-turn to give the player a chance.
