    Re: Steam Issues:

Because, with only the tiny effort involved in actually perusing this forum you would easily discover that it's Steam and CA that is the problem. In addition it's your problem that you are using...

    Quintillius,

That is so rude, so selfish, so insulting that I'll have to content myself with telling you to p*** off.

    Go get a life.

    Re: Elephants as Rome?

Land a General in one of the African (closest) regions where Mercenary Elephants can be recruited - and go for it.

Not entirely unrealistic - but keep them rare.

  5. Re: Is it possible to code in numbered legions?

Yes & No - the 'other cohorts' have never been numbered (for there aren't sufficient units in total available) - but I am fairly sure the ones, given the BI reference, that he's referring to are the...

I didn't try and answer originally - as there is no really good answer.

I've spent quite a while in research with this subject as a sideline and there is very little real information out there. ...

  9. Re: Is it possible to code in numbered legions?

It's already there - I asked for that during testing nearly 3 years ago and the lovely dvk' managed to do it.

It's exactly what happens during the Middle Republic/Generic Cohorts part following...

It is, however, the perfect solution to all the problems.

    Re: Roma Surrectum 2.6 patch

Yes, they can be tough - as can many others in their own ways. I've always used 'proper' army compositions; the Praetorians rarely appear except on special occasions and I don't recall any of my...

  19. Re: Is this the correct version of Rome Total War to buy?

I do recall (and would love to be wrong) that the Anthology version (ie all 3 together) was reputed to not necessarily contain 'everything'?

Re: Poor balance and terrible battle AI

The AI does build roads; but they are not a priority in the AI's eyes. If you play 'slowly' (ie thinking of playing for 400+ turns) then more will appear.
