Sticky: Re: Shogun 2 Mod Questions & Recommendations

Not sure where to ask this but I made a simple mod (just unit balance adjustments) for Shogun 2 several years ago, and I'm getting back into the game now and would like to make some adjustments......

    Re: Improvements to the game?

Auto-resolving combat needs some serious reworking. I'd recommend disregarding the automatic garrisons for cities that have an army stationed in them, otherwise the garrison's added numerical value...

Easily one of my all-time favorite TV shows.

I mean, just watch this scene:

Re: PC specs for the game

Er... those aren't the minimum requirements at all. I'm running the game on a PC that can only barely do 720p/25fps in Warhammer 2, and I'm getting a stable 30fps at 1080p in Three Kingdoms.

Is it good? Honestly... yes and no? It's way, way better than Rome II or any of its successors--it's well optimized, has a clean and readable UI, a wealth of diplomacy options (almost everything...

Re: the game is so  i went back to Medieval 2

We mean we want to see the same unit collision mechanics present in *literally* every single Total War game -except- Rome II. We mean that we want enough spacing between the units that the combat...

Re: the game is so  i went back to Medieval 2

Honestly, none of my issues with Rome 2 have anything to do with wanting more (or less) depth or complexity. The big issues, to me, are the lack of believably-realistic unit collision mechanics...

Re: the game is so  i went back to Medieval 2

I'm currently trying to get back in to Rome 2, but my biggest problems with the game now are the same as my biggest problems with the game at launch--unit collision mechanics are broken, and the UI...
  11. Sticky: Re: Warhammer I & II Computer & Hardware Recommendations

I'm thinking about upgrading my PC for the newer Total War games, as I'm unable to play Warhammer 2 Total War at a decent framerate at anything but the low settings preset and 720p. Ideally I'd like...

  13. Any options/mods/tweaks to fix the "mosh pit" unit collision problem?

Hey, folks. I'm one of the many fans who put Rome 2 aside in disgust when it launched due to just how bad it was way back then. I'm told things are better now, and I'm hoping to give the game a...

200 hours? Yikes, what is wrong with you?

The game is garbage. I'm astonished I've even got 20 hours on the thing. The only reason I'm sticking around is to see if/when formations get fixed, so I...

Re: PATCH 2 beta has begun!

  16. Re: I think that I played a very different game in comparison to the rest of the forum .

    It's a matter of standards.

If you have really, really, painfully low standards, Rome 2 is a good game. This is why the casual TW fans are eating it up (finally: a game where they can win without...

Re: - Roman civil war -

Oh, that looks promising. So I have to play for 100 turns in order to fight against a decently composed army? Cool. I guess.
  18. Has anyone seen an AI faction actually conquer other territories?

I'm some 40 or 50 turns in, taken three full provinces and a number of outlying regions, and so far as I can tell every single AI faction is still stuck in the same spot they were at Turn Zero.

  19. Re: This game has the potential to be the best TW yet - How I improved my gameplay experience

None of the mods fix the biggest problems with the game--AI and UI--and it's virtually certain the latter will never be improved. All the current mods do is fix some of the smallest issues.

Re: Did Rome 2... just get a 2/10 critical review?

  22. Is it possible to change UNIT SIZE in a .pack mod?

    Re: Rome 2 battles, fun?

The battles are the exact opposite of fun.

-The morale is set way too low and movement speed way too high which makes combat way too fast.
-Too fast to appreciate the visuals/setting.
    -Too fast...

  26. Re: "Sorry From CA - Current State of the Game and What Happens Next"

They've said they'll release modding tools, but there's no ETA. Some people here at TWC were saying 2015, but I think that was just rumormongering.

  29. Re: Rome 2 Interface is uninformative and a downgrade on the near perfection of Shogun 2.

Re: Petition to remove the retarded flag

Re: Battles, the worst part of the game?

    Re: Battle speed

The problem isn't just battle speed. Yes, it's increased, but morale has been changed to make battle go even faster. Now, basic units will rout while still 75% (or more) intact.

  35. Diplomacy, A.I., Optimization, U.I. aside--it's the arbitrary Army Limits that break the game.
